Description
Padure Manor is an authentic 19th-century manor house, built in 1838 by Scottish merchant John L. Balfour, in the Empire style. This is not a renovated hotel, but a carefully preserved historic home with original rooms and atmosphere. Surrounded by a 2-hectare historic park, the manor offers privacy, silence, and a timeless experience. In winter, candlelit evenings create a serene and deeply relaxing retreat, perfect for guests who value history, authenticity, and quality time together. The space A natural swimming spot is located about 100 metres from the manor, while the historic town of Kuldīga is just 7 km away. The nearby village has a small shop with essential goods, and local farm products can be arranged. The manor offers a fully equipped kitchen with all necessary cookware and tableware. The house is exceptionally well preserved – around 99% of doors, windows, floors, and ovens are original. A 2-hectare historic park surrounds the manor, perfect for picnics or quiet time outdoors. Guest access Guests have exclusive use of the entire manor house and its surrounding 2-hectare historic park, including a lime tree alley and quiet walking paths. In summer, the park and garden terrace invite long days outdoors, picnics, and slow afternoons in nature. Evenings on the garden terrace are especially romantic, often enjoyed by candlelight, creating a calm and intimate atmosphere. The property offers complete privacy and space to fully experience the manor and its landscape. Other things to note The manor currently has two bathrooms: one main bathroom in a simple country style with a shower, and an additional bathroom located in the Virzas Room. As this is a historic house, there are no heated floors. Guests are kindly asked to be patient and considerate, especially when staying in larger groups.
