Pretty house in Medieval village with castle views

'Maison Bleue' is located in the Medieval village of Puilaurens and has superb views of the Cathar castle.It accommodates 8 people over 3 floors with bathrooms at the top and base of the house. A centrally located kitchen and lounge area leads out onto a sunny terrasse, perfect for barbeques. This area overlooks the ancient village and river from the balcony, as well as the castle looking upwards(it is illuminated at night). In the lower outside space there is a special place to play the popular game of boules, with a demarcated boules piste. The house is light and airy and decorated in a modern but traditoinal style. The dishwasher makes life convenient for nights in, however a short 15 minute walk down the hill takes you to a couple of good restaurants. The village also has a shop and a bar. A great place to relax within easy reach of Quillan and Carcasonne as well as Perpignan and the coast. The beautiful scenery of the valley is a classic wine growing area. There are places in the vicinity to enjoy wild swimming as well as an outdoor pool 10 minutes away at Axat. A little tourist train takes you through the area in open or closed carriages to enjoy different castles and scenery.
