Set within the historic walls of the estate’s old walled garden, these peaceful mews cottages enjoy garden views and glimpses of Loch Melfort. The space Welcome to the Walled Garden Mews Cottages — a collection of ten two-bedroom mews-style cottages set within the historic walls of the old Melfort Estate walled garden, around 500 yards from the Inner Village. Surrounded by beautiful gardens and with views south towards Loch Melfort, the cottages offer a peaceful setting slightly away from the centre of the village. Each cottage is entered from the rear of the building into a hallway with drying and coat storage space. The hallway leads to an open-plan sitting room, dining area and kitchen, creating a comfortable and sociable living space. Also on the ground floor is a shower room with large walk-in shower and a master double bedroom with en-suite bathroom. Stairs lead from the living area to a mezzanine balcony level which can be used as a games or additional sleeping area, along with a twin bedroom on the upper floor. French doors from the dining area open onto a private patio leading directly to the shared gardens, providing a quiet spot to relax outdoors. Walled Garden Mews Cottages 1 and 10 also feature wood-burning stoves. Guests can also enjoy a small leisure area within the building, including a games room with table tennis, pool and an Xbox. Additional shared facilities include a laundry room, communal deep freeze and vending machine. Ample parking is available at the rear of the building, with visitor parking just outside the garden entrance. Guest access Couples can unwind with access to the sauna, hot tub and heated indoor swimming pool, while the cosy on-site bar and restaurant serves home-cooked meals in a warm and welcoming setting. For more active guests, an all-weather tennis court sits at the heart of the village, and there are plenty of scenic local walks to enjoy at your own pace. Families are well catered for too, with two play parks, a putting green and a football field. On rainy days, the communal games rooms provide entertainment for all ages, including air hockey, pool and table tennis, and the swimming pool is always family friendly. Dogs are very welcome at Melfort Village and even receive their own welcome pack. There’s a dedicated dog field for off-lead exercise, along with countless beautiful walks to explore in the surrounding countryside.
