The space The Overlook has been architect designed and has breathtaking sea views across the English Channel. It is situated only a few minutes' walk from the centre of Ventnor, a Victorian seaside town with buildings full of character. In addition to the main shopping street where you will find a selection of small supermarkets to include a Co-op and Tesco Express, there are parks and gardens, museums and the Winter Gardens - an entertainment venue with a growing reputation for theatre, concerts, comedy and dance shows and of course the restaurant/bar. There are a number of great restaurants in Ventnor including Tramezzini, The Ale & Oyster, and the Smoking Lobster to name a few. The famous Spyglass pub sits right on the sea, and there are some great tea and coffee shops; The Tea House and Lady Scarlett's Tea Parlour (complete with 1940's theming) are favourites. Or if you fancy a take-away to enjoy by the beach, the Ventnor Haven Fishery on The Esplanade sell fantastic fish & chips, locally caught and prepared to order. Ventnor Botanic Garden lies in the remarkable microclimate at the heart of the famous 'Undercliff.' This unique garden is protected from the cold northerly winds by chalk downs. In addition to enjoying the lovely gardens, it also hosts events and exhibitions and there is a restaurant and Café on-site for refreshments; lunch or coffee and cake! From The Esplanade you can take the level walk, along the sea wall to Bonchurch, or walk along the cliff path towards Steephill Cove, a beautiful sheltered bay only accessed by foot.
