The Gardens wedding venue and Tunbridge Wells are close by, with London just 50 mins by train. The space The Old Engineer is a peaceful boutique retreat for two, surrounded by fields in the beautiful Kent countryside between Tunbridge Wells and Maidstone. With its own private entrance and pretty courtyard garden, it’s a relaxing place to escape and enjoy some time together. The comfortable space has a super-king bed with high-quality Egyptian cotton bedding, with twin beds available on request. There’s a sofa, Smart HD TV with FreeSat, dining and a well-equipped kitchenette with fridge/freezer box, double induction hob, microwave and sink. To make your arrival easy, we provide bread, jams, butter, milk, fresh coffee and a selection of teas. There’s plenty to explore nearby, from the beautiful gardens at Sissinghurst, Scotney Castle and Great Dixter to vineyards, National Trust properties, country pubs and excellent restaurants. Bedgebury offers wonderful walks and off-road cycling, while Tunbridge Wells has great independent shops, cafés and restaurants. The Old Engineer is situated on the Linton Loop and Paddock Wood cycling routes, with bike storage available in the private garden. The Hop Farm is around 10 minutes away and The Gardens wedding venue near Yalding is less than five minutes by car. Paddock Wood station is around 10 minutes away, with trains to London taking approximately 50 minutes. Guest access Guests have their own entrance off our drive into their private garden and front door to their accomodation.
