Beautifully restored Grade II listed property a short walk from the beach front Sunny Shores is a stunning former fisherman’s cottage situated close to the beach front and local amenities in Aberdovey. There isn’t a better location to be for those looking for a seaside escape. Set within the southern reaches of the Snowdonia National Park, excellent for those walkers visiting the area On confirmation of your booking we will send you a Cottage Guide with all the information you need to make your stay a fabulous one! You will have a free parking permit for both car parks in Aberdovey and all other Gwynedd Council car parks in surrounding towns. Please note there is no smoking or vaping allowed anywhere inside the property. PETS We love pets and are happy for you to bring your four-legged friends with you to stay, after all they deserve a holiday too! All we ask is that you do not let them on the furniture, and that you do not leave them unattended in the property whilst everyone is out. We also ask you to clean up and dispose of any dog waste in the GREEN bin please. Dogs are welcome on Aberdyfi Beach all year round, however between April and September they are not allowed on the first section of the beach between the Lifeboat Station and the start of the sand dunes/end of the car park – there is a telegraph pole on the beach marking this. Arrival time from 4pm and departure no later than 10am. The entire cottage and rear garden is for your exclusive use. How to Get Here From the Midlands and South... head for the M54 (Junction 10a on the M6) and keep going. Follow M54 for Telford (bypass), A5 for Shrewsbury (bypass) then A458 for Welshpool. At Mallwyd, take the A470/A489 to Machynlleth. Turn right in Machynlleth following A470 towards Dolgellau then about 1 mile on at river bridge, turn left onto A493 to Aberdyfi/Tywyn. Aberdyfi is about 9 miles on. From the North... head for Queensferry on the M56 - A5117 - A550 then take the A494 to Mold - Ruthin - Bala - Dolgellau. At Dolgellau, turn right onto the A470 for just over a mile then left onto the A493 to Tywyn. Stay on the A493 to Aberdyfi - about 4 miles. Aberdovey is a thriving seaside fishing village with brightly painted houses which seem to cling to the shoreline, and has a history dating back hundreds of years. It offers miles of beautiful golden sandy beaches with a fantastic selection of water based activities available including sailing, fishing and windsurfing. Golfers are also well catered for with an 18-hole championship golf course located at the western end of the village, which welcomes visiting players. Outdoor enthusiasts will enjoy the wonderful opportunities for walking and bird watching available in the surrounding area. A myriad of visitor attractions are within easy reach including the Vale of Rheidol Railway, Talyllyn Railway, the Corris Craft Centre and King Arthur’s Labyrinth. Beach 100 yards. Plenty of shops, pubs and restaurants are all on your doorstep. Situated in a secluded terrace, set back from the main square, you will be a hop, skip and a jump away from all this village has to offer and the local beach. The cottage has its own separate garden around the back reached via a short shingle path and some steps. The sandy beach is segregated into a family friendly area for building sand castles, water sports or a spot of crabbing off the ever popular jetty whilst further along is a pet friendly beach stretching for several miles. You will be in easy reach of shops, pubs and restaurants, whilst far enough away to remain undisturbed at night. This charming cottage retains many original features, including a wood burning stove and slate fireplace. It also has many modern amenities including underfloor heating throughout the ground floor and a fully equipped modern kitchen and bathroom. Ground Floor Front entrance leads directly into the living/dining room area. Living/Dining area A good sized living/dining area with underfloor heated wooden flooring, a wood-burning stove inset in a feature slate fireplace, a three seater settee, armchair and L-shaped sofa which can seat a further three people. Free Wi-Fi, LCD TV. There is a large dining table to comfortably seat six people on four chairs and a bench. Kitchen Fully equipped kitchen with heated slate flooring. Electric oven with ceramic induction hob, under counter fridge with ice-box, microwave, washer/ dryer, dishwasher and Nespresso Vertuo coffee machine and milk frother. Bathroom Modern bathroom with tiled heated floor, fitted with walk-in power shower, heated towel rail, vanity hand basin with one touch light up mirror and WC. First Floor Bedroom 1 Front double bedroom with built in wardrobe with hanging space and shelf, dressing table, chest of drawers, two bedside tables with reading lights overhead. Smart Freeview TV. Outside To the front of the property is a pretty secluded Terrace area with flower pots and tubs shared with the five other cottages on Evans Terrace. Pets Two large or three small dogs accepted. Parking There is one free car park pass provided for use on the "Pay & Display" car parks in Aberdovey. The nearest one is 250yds away next to the beach. Electricity & Gas included you will need to bring firelighters, kindling and logs for the log burner. Bed linen, towels and tea towels included. Strictly No Smoking or Vaping 4 Evans Terrace, off Copperhill Street, Aberdovey, LL35 0HB Once on Copperhill Street drive straight up and when you see FatFace on your right look for a small alleyway on your left in fifty yards between the two houses. There will be a car park permit on the table for you to use whilst you are at the cottage. It is valid in both pay & display car parks in both Aberdovey car parks. PLEASE REMEMBER TO LEAVE THIS ON THE TABLE WHEN YOU LEAVE FOR THE NEXT GUESTS AS A REPLACEMENT COSTS £25 If you could please water the window boxes and large hydrangea planters that would be really helpful! KEYS TO THE PROPERTY: In the key safe on the planter to the right of the front door. PLEASE REPLACE WHEN YOU LEAVE Please remember to lock the doors, close windows and turn off all light switches and heated towel rail when you leave the cottage. RUBBISH AND RECYCLING: Household waste: The bins are only collected every 3 weeks in Aberdovey so please try and recycle or take as much rubbish as you can down to the bins on the front tied in plastic bags. If you are there on a Thursday evening could you put the green bin (if required) and the recycling trolley down at the bottom of the alleyway as that that is emptied every week. Any food waste place in sealed black plastic bags inside green bin if this is full please take the black bags down to the bins along the front so there is room for the next guests. Collection day and point: Early Friday morning at bottom of the alley every 3 weeks Bottle Recycling: Place in blue box with black lid Collection day and point: Early every Friday morning at bottom of the alley There are public waste bins on the main car park by the children’s play area and on the front by the jetty. HEATING: There is a log burner in the lounge but you will need to either bring firelighters, kindling and logs with you or buy them from Dovey Marine just across the square from the cottage they are open 9am-5pm. There is underfloor heating downstairs throughout. This is set on a thermostat in the dining area. There is also a heated towel rail in the bathroom to help dry towels. The switch for this is above the door. Wi-Fi: The code for the Wi-Fi is on the back of the router. FUSE BOX: Location: Above the front door ROOM BY ROOM All bed linen, towels and tea towels are provided for you. There is a double bed and two sets of adult sized bunk beds. Kitchen: The boiler heats water on demand and so there will always be hot water available. There is an Induction Hob which you need to press the power button, then the unlock button for 3 secs, the rings will then flash and you can choose which one by pressing it then control the temperature by pressing the + and – buttons. You need a saucepan on the hob for it to work. There is a Nespresso Vertuo coffee machine with some complimentary coffee pods and an electric milk frother. There is also a dishwasher, microwave and washer/dryer. Instructions are in the drawers under the TV. Please feel free to use anything that is in the cupboards and just replace anything substantial. Living room: There is a SMART TV for you to login to your favourite apps and channels. Please call us on WhatsApp or text us us if you need help with either of the TV's or the underfloor heating it’s set to 20C so you should be warm and cosy :) Please be extremely careful if lighting the log burner especially if you have small children with you. Bedrooms: The main bedroom has two plug sockets behind the bed. The switch for the fairy lights above the bed is underneath at the headboard end. Bathroom: There is a switch for the heated towel rail above the door please turn off when you leave. The mirror lights up when you touch the power logo at the bottom. The bathroom windows are best always left on vent even when you leave to keep it aired. OUTDOORS Garden: The garden is directly at the rear of the property - you will need to turn right out of the front of the cottage walk past Mousehole and up the slate shale path until you reach the gate at the end which is our garden. Be careful with dogs and little ones as there is a drop to the right of this path. In the shed at the top of the garden you will find some chairs and loungers along with bean bags and picnic rugs - feel free to use any of these.
