Mattie’s house is in the village of Port Ellen,very central 5 minutes to the ferry port and minutes to the sandy beach.There are shops and hotels and distilleries all within walking distance,if you are coming by car there is on street parking and if you are coming by public transport the bus stop is meters away,please be aware we are in a residential area.The house has one double bedroom,one twin,living room,kitchen and bathroom with walk in shower,there is oil central heating in the property. The space Mattie’s house is a home from home,named after my partner’s late grandmother Mattie who lived in the house from when it was built.We would like you to be as comfortable as you would be in your own home,kick off your shoes after a busy day exploring all that islay has to offer and enjoy a wee dram from one of the many Islay distilleries.Many as a dram had in here back in the day,slainte 🥃 (cheers) Guest access The house and secured garden is fully accessible to all guests.There is a washing line in the garden. Other things to note Parking is outside the house on the opposite side of the road,you can park at the gate to unpack but it’s easier if all the cars are parked on the same side of the street.Please be careful going in and out of the front door as it has quite a high step into the entrance.Guests please note it’s advisable to confirm ferry bookings as we don’t want you to be turned away when the ferry is full,it is advisable to take out travel insurance too.
