Description

Fall asleep with the night sounds and memories of fireflies dancing in the gentle embrace of an ancient African rain forest... The space is likely to leave you with unforgettable memories indelibly etched in your memory. The space We have different types of accommodation, so please enquire, even if the calendar appears blocked out. We can accommodate up to 9 guests at a time, depending on availability of course. If you are travelling through Johannesburg/Gauteng area, also please note that I have also recently listed my Johannesburg home on AirBnB. Like my forest home, it is a very cool space and can accommodate between 1 and 7 guests. https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/10431511 Our home is situated in the middle of the rain forest on an Nature Reserve on the Garden Route, about 25 kilometres from the holiday mecca Plettenberg Bay en route to the exquisite enclave of Nature's Valley. The home was designed (and lived in) by architect Jonathan Weinberg in an unique eclectic style, which can only be described as a fusion of luxurious Zen forest treehouse meets historical forest mining house. The home is built on the side of a forest hill, about 3 kilometres from a particularly unspoilt and wild part of the sea. The hill and forest protects the home from the coastal winds and creates unspoilt views of the rain forest and Tsitsikamma mountains for literally as far as the eye can see. A fast hike through the forest, gets you to a mystical beach in la little more than an hour, depending of course on how many of the forest sights will gently delay your walk. The home has three living areas that embrace the central fire area. All the sleeping areas are separated from each other and are private. This listing include my entire main part of my house, and consist of the following: 1. The master bedroom with a double bed and a single bed. 2. Plus a completely self-contained main open plan, living area with a double bed, a single bed, a work space, a lounge area, a large kitchen and dining room area. 3. It has a separate private Victorian styled bathroom and shower and private toilet, which are in separate rooms, just outside the sleeping areas. As also described, all our listings are all fully equipped for self-catering and also have portable braise/barbeques. Please arrange your own charcoal and fire starters? There is dam about 400 meters from my home to cool down in on hot days, and we are only a few hundred meters away from exquisite hiking trails, which are extensions of the famous Otter Trail. We also have two other listings: 1. A smaller cottage, which is fully equipped for self-catering. It is an open plan space with a double bed, a single sleeper couch for an extra adult guest or for 2 younger children, kitchenette, shower and toilet, an intimate little garden with a zen sandpit, and it has a viewing deck that appears to flows out over the forest. It has a fridge, microwave oven, gas stove, cutlery, plates, cooking utensils, etc. (see https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/10050952). 2. My whole house, in other words this listing, plus the cottage, which can accommodate up to 9 people (see https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/10138192) Guest access The area around the main house. Other things to note The home is situated in a critically endangered biosphere. There are few places like this left in the world and where they are they are under constant threat.
