Casa Museo Tlapalcalli is located in Tetela de Ocampo, 15 minutes from downtown. It is an old colonial hacienda, intervened with sculptures and murals by the artist Rafael Bonilla. Its cabin-style rooms are decorated with works by different artists and crafts from the region. Surrounded by mountains, it is ideal for those looking for an atmosphere of tranquility and inspiration. Preferred by nature and culture lovers looking for a different lodging experience. The space The House Museum has large expanses of forest and green areas, as it is bordered by a mountain and the riverbed. It has a gallery open to the public where the pictorial work of the artist Rafael Bonilla is exhibited, and temporary exhibitions of other artists are held. Having a separate entrance, visits to the gallery do not disturb the tranquility of the house museum. All these features make it one of a kind, offering more than just accommodation, an experience for the senses. Guest access Decorated with Mexican crafts, pre-Hispanic replicas and paintings by different artists, Due to the current pandemic, access to the dining room, TV room and kitchen has been restricted. Instead, we are renting a suite with a kitchenette that we recommend in case you want to prepare food. Guests still have access to the green areas, outdoor gardens, and natural pool area that are shared with tourists visiting the House Museum, while the patio and indoor garden are exclusively for guests and are shared only with residents. During your stay I am not always present to greet you, but the housekeepers and I are in constant communication to assist you in case I am not there. I also keep in touch with guests and am available on my line at any time to be aware of their needs. Due to the health protocols that we must follow to make your stay safe for everyone, I and the caretakers will keep a healthy distance when you need to interact with us. If you like swimming, the best time to visit this city and discover its tributaries, waterfalls and rivers is in the summer.
