Tranquility On Teal Lake

Cabin Access: There is a key pad on the door to access the cabin. The keypad code is written above. Please write this down. Please be sure to lock the door at checkout, and try the handle to make sure it is locked. If you are going in and out, just make sure the small lever is in the vertical position; otherwise, it will lock each time and require the code to enter. Towels: Bath towels are provided but the white towels are new and are not to be used at all outside or for dogs. Please bring your own beach towels and dog towels. Towels that are stained from outside use will be charged to the guest at current replacement costs. Telephone: It should be noted that cell phone coverage is spotty in this area. Once you leave the cabin, cell service is again available approximately 15 miles either direction on Highway 77. There is sometimes cell phone usage while on the lake. Boat launch - Guests are welcome to use the private boat launch located on the cabin association property. To access the launch, turn off Highway 77 onto Ross Road and continue toward the cabin. Before reaching the cabin, turn right toward the Teal River and follow the road down to the launch area. Please note the following: The launch is available exclusively for guests staying at the cabin. Vehicles and trailers may be temporarily left at the launch while launching or retrieving your boat. Once your boat has been launched and moved to the cabin dock, all vehicles and trailers must be returned to the cabin property. Due to limited space, long-term parking at the launch is not permitted. When retrieving your boat, you may again use the launch area to load your boat before returning to the cabin. This private launch is convenient and often easier to use than the nearby public launch located just across the Teal River at the corner of Highway 77 and Larson Road. There are several other public boat launches nearby. See the DNR website or maps in the Welcome Book. The closest public launch to our cabin is out of the resort area and turn left onto Highway 77. Go about 500 just over the bridge and past the Teal River. Turn left right after the bridge, and the launch is on the left. Teal River is a short river that connects to Teal Lake just down the shoreline from White Birch. Lost Land Lake also has a launching site. Boating: When boating on the lake please provide ample distance from shore (200 ft) to prevent the wake from hitting the shoreline and eroding it. Teal Lake is a quiet lake, which means there is a maximum speed limit of 10 mph. Jet skis, wake boarding, and water skiing are not allowed on a quiet lake. Please adhere to this law. Teal Lake is connected to Lost Land Lake, another quiet lake, through a channel. Refer to the map. New in 2022 the owner has purchased two new Kayaks to explore the lake with. The Kayaks are free to use with the rental. Some adult size lifejackets are available. Be sure to bring any youth size jackets you might need to guarantee fit. Lifejackets are required to use the owners kayaks. Paddles are also provided.> Fishing: Teal Lake and Lost Land Lake (connected by a channel) offer a variety of fish, including muskies, northern pike, walleye, large and small mouth bass, crappies, blue gill, and perch. You can easily catch pan fish right off the dock and even muskies and bass have been caught off the dock! Raspberry Island is set up to enjoy your catch with a shore lunch! Refer to the Teal Lake map in the Welcome Book. Fishing guides are also available, and listed in the Welcome Book, and some do shore lunches. Elk Herd: There is a large elk herd transplanted from Kentucky by the DNR to Clam Lake. When exiting onto Highway 77, go east and past the Teal River. You will then begin to see signs for elk crossings. Elk can be seen grazing and standing along the highway especially after dark, and even more so around midnight. The female (cow) elk have electronic collars on that trigger the flashing lights on the elk crossing signs. The male (bull) elk do not have collars. Watercraft Rentals: Note that the lake is a quite lake and no water skiing or tubing Ross Teal Enterprises onsite has various fishing boats, pontoon boats, canoes, and hydro bikes available for rental.
