The space Our house – an enchanting journey back in time We rent our beloved Allgäu Mesnerhaus. The view to the east, south and west is free and you have a 180° view of the beautiful Allgäu nature in good weather. Here you can: - Enjoy healthy, clear mountain air at almost 1,000m above sea level - come to rest and find a soothing silence, which is only available in very few places these days. - Sauna privately in the floor and immediately create a new world hit in the music room. - Play a Bechstein wing from 1896 (not tuned, but with history!) - Explore nature directly from the house - play in the large garden, romp or just enjoy the sun - Feel the elements: wind, rain, snow and sun become an experience here - The highlight for golfers: Forget long journeys! Our house is located directly on the golf course. You can walk almost directly from the breakfast table to the first tee. - The heart of the house is the traditional parlor with its magnificent, original dark wood coffered ceiling. Relax on the cozy oven bench by the historic tiled stove, which is laid out with soft skins – the ideal place for deep conversations or a good book by gentle candlelight. Antique farmhouse furniture and loving details underline the unadulterated charm of days gone by. - barbecue in the garden and gather around the large fire bowl in the evening - work out under the eyes of a legend. The iconic poster of Muhammad Ali on the wall provides the motivation boost to grow beyond yourself. Accommodates 8 people Ideal 4–6 people for a family plus family or friends. It has four cozy bedrooms, a bathroom and an additional toilet in the floor. It is traditionally heated with wood, while bathrooms and bedrooms are additionally equipped with hybrid electricity heating. Where tradition meets energy A very special highlight awaits you under the roof: in the rustic floor we have created a private boxing gym. Between historic beams and under the eyes of legend Muhammad Ali, you can really work out at the punching bag or the Speedball station – a unique contrast that you won't find a second time. Catch the sun and enjoy time together with a variety of games that are available for free during your stay: - For team players & ball masters: A real volleyball net, soccer goals/posts, and a soccer ball for the perfect match on the lawn. - For precision fans: Classic boccia and the popular Viking chess (Kubb) – perfect for social afternoons. - For fast action: badminton (including net) and frisbee. - For the smallest guests: A soft softball so that even the little ones can play safely. Our Promise We have kept this house with a lot of attention to detail to offer you an experience that goes far beyond a normal overnight stay. Looking forward to seeing you soon! Guest access During your stay, you will have the entire property to yourself. You can use all areas of the property with house and large garden exclusively for yourself. Exceptions are areas in the barn (here is an old tractor and our garden tools), the basement and a room on the first floor reserved for our private items. Please respect these areas to keep everything safe and tidy. Other things to note Bedrooms 2 and 4: In both rooms there are additional single beds with the Dimensions 90 cm x 190 cm. Ideal for children and teenagers: With a compact length of 190 cm, these beds are ideal for younger guests. Restricted for adults: Please note that these beds may be too short for most adults and therefore do not offer the usual comfort for a full body size. The house is traditionally heated by two wood tiled stoves. These may only be used by guests who have experience in heating with wood and receive a short introduction on site. In addition, modern, high-quality hybrid surface spotlights are available in the bedrooms, kitchen and a pleasant underfloor heating in the bathroom. The room heights are - as usual - between about 1.90 m and 2.40 m. This means that you have to duck your head in some places of the house. Anyone who moves in here will be immersed in authentic, time-honored living: sloping floors with character, slightly uneven walls, low ceilings, and other endearing quirks that no new-build could ever offer. That's exactly what makes this place special. Please note: This is not a modernly renovated vacation home – and that's a good thing. If you are looking for flawless surfaces and a standard hotel aesthetic, this may not be the right place for you. However, if you appreciate atmosphere, character, and originality, you will feel right at home immediately. There are wool hair rugs on the floors, which contribute to the warm and cozy atmosphere of the house. However, for allergy sufferers, it is important to know the following: Wool rugs can trigger allergies and may therefore not be suitable for people with severe allergies. On the ground floor there is a bathroom with underfloor heating, bathtub, washing machine, dryer and toilet. In addition, there is a small separate toilet in the barn. Many historical furniture and personal belongings of our family are part of the house. Please handle it carefully - they tell stories from many generations.
