The White House, dating back to 1708, is an end-terraced property in the centre of the village, and is one of the oldest properties in Newbiggin-by-the-Sea. The mile-long promenade and beach are only a 2-minute walk away, and the property is situated on the main street running through the village. Fully renovated by the owners in 2018, it offers a peaceful, enclosed sitting out area on the first floor, which is the ideal place to relaxing in, and is a real suntrap. The White House is only yards from the shops, and is ideal for couples or families. Across the road is a friendly local butcher and fishmonger, and next door is a café serving breakfasts. Opposite is a pretty, vintage tea room and nearby is an Italian ice cream parlour, which has been family run since the early 1900s. Newbiggin has one of the oldest lifeboat stations, and the Maritime Centre at the end of the bay houses the old lifeboat; it hosts events and has a display of artwork, as well as a great café with views over the bay. The local bus stop is nearby, where you can literally hop on and get off in Newcastle-upon-Tyne or Morpeth. Newcastle is a vibrant city with super architecture, pubs and restaurants, whilst Morpeth, 9 miles away, has a pretty river and plenty of shops, cafés and pubs. There is a great road network around Newbiggin-by-the-Sea, making it a good choice for sightseeing and giving easy access north to Alnwick Castle, famous for ’Harry Potter’. Hadrian’s Wall is easily accessible in under an hour, where you can explore Roman forts, and the Kielder Dark Sky Park and Forest is only 55 miles away. Tynemouth, with golden beaches, is only 17 miles south and well worth a visit with its great selection of bistros and cafés. The White House is ideally located for sea fishing and exploring all the glorious Northumberland Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Beach 175 yards.
