The space Welcome to Duck Lake Retreat, a beautifully remodeled lakefront home on peaceful Duck Lake in Crystal, Michigan. Set on 2 private acres with 60 feet of sandy shoreline, this warm, stylish getaway offers the perfect blend of nature, comfort, and small-town charm, ideal for families, couples, creative types, or a relaxed group getaway. The home sleeps 7–8 guests comfortably across 3.5 bedrooms and 1.5 bathrooms, with a fully equipped kitchen, cozy living spaces, and four separate porch-decks where you can sip your morning coffee, read a book, or watch the sunset over the water. Step outside and you’re on a lovely lake, perfect for pontooning, kayaking, canoeing, swimming, or fishing. A private dock is ready for your boat, and the sandy beach frontage makes lake days easy and fun for all ages. Beyond the lake, the property includes a full RV hookup (water & sewer) and plenty of space to pitch a couple of tents, making it ideal for a girls’ weekend, family reunion, or multi-generational stay. Evenings are best spent gathered around the propane fire pit or the wood-burning fire pit, sharing stories under the stars. Despite the peaceful, rural setting, you’re just one mile from the charming town of Crystal, where you’ll find: -A historic first-run movie theater -Restaurants, two local bars, and a roller rink -Public beaches on nearby Crystal Lake -Grocery store, gas stations, dollar store -Golf driving range and Crystal Raceway Whether you’re planning a family lake vacation, a romantic escape, or a quiet writing or creative retreat, Duck Lake Retreat offers the space, serenity, and thoughtful touches to make your stay truly special. Come slow down, unplug, and make memories by the water. 🌊🔥 Guest access The entire house, all exterior decks and porches, the side yard with fire pit, the woodpile out back, and backyard woods are all available for your use. The beach with the dock across the street from the house are also part of the property and yours to use. We will either direct you to the lockbox outside the main entrance door to the house (right next to the garage) to access the house key, or we will program the code lock to the last 4 digits of your phone number. Your host will let you know which option to access. SLEEPING ARRANGEMENTS - One main private bedroom with a Queen Bed downstairs (sleeps 2). - One not-private open bedroom/lounging room with a Queen Bed downstairs, open and visible through the kitchen (sleeps 2). - One small couch/futon Twin Bed downstairs in the front room (sleeps 1, or 2 small children). (Clean bedding/sheets are available for your use under the built-in table, in the cupboards.) - Two not-private bedrooms upstairs with a half-bathroom between them; no doors on the upstairs rooms; you walk up the stairs and one room is open to the left (this room has a Queen Bed size couch/futon (sleeps 2), and the other room is open to the right; this room has one Twin Bed (sleeps 1). The upstairs has room for a blowup mattress if you bring one. BEACH AND BOATS We have a canoe on our beach you are welcome to use. Please use safely. Life jackets and oars are provided. Everyone on the 3-seat canoe MUST wear life jackets. Duck Lake is very pretty and great for fishing, but it is also very 'mucky' and would be easy to get tangled up out in the deeper areas. The water near the dock is very shallow and great for kids to splash around in. Fishing off the dock itself often yields many small fish, also great for kids. Bring your fishing poles! Feel free to bring your boat, but you must have your own anchor and bumpers; the dock does not have a lift or hookup gear. There is a public boat launch just a few hundred yards away from the dock. There are local vendors who rent pontoon boats and golf carts. Locals often drive between Duck Lake and Crystal Lake using a golf cart. The Duck Lake Public Boat Launch is located at 1925 Waterview Way, Crystal, Michigan 48818. THINGS TO DO -Locals love going to the public beach in Crystal, movies at the historic local movie theatre just a mile away, visiting the Rainbow Gardens Roller Rink, or having a drink and a bite to eat while watching the sun set at The Wet Spot Bar & Grill. -Blanchard's Grocery is a great little grocery store; you can take the dirt-road shortcut by turning left onto Bollinger Rd and driving a mile or so to the paved road and turning right; drive a few minutes to the 4-way light and Blanchard's is on your left. -On weekend nights, you might hear Crystal Raceway cars zipping around the track in the distance. If you decide to go the races, be prepared to get dusty and dirty! But it's fun. -A little bit of a drive but definitely worth it on a beautiful day, the Clifford Lake Inn in Stanton is a gorgeous, fun, historic spot for dinner; they often have live music. -If. you have younger kids with you, Anderson & Girls Orchards in Stanton is an absolute 100% must; so fun, a wide variety of exotic animals, apple cider farm, gift shop, yummy homemade doughnuts, pastries and pies. -Nearby Carson City (6 miles) has an adorable retro bowling alley with six lanes. Carson City is also the closest "fast food" with a Subway, a Taco Bell, and a McDonald's. (But we have to say Ike's Ice Cream in Crystal is the best! - only open Memorial Day through Labor Day.) -Greenville is the closest Walmart, Meijer, Starbucks, and the like; if we're in Greenville, we like to stop by The Winter Inn for a drink and a bite to eat.
