Blue Grotto — An Upstream Advantage

Three days is a lot of paddling — don’t waste your energy upstream more than you have to. The bright blue water is just 8 minutes away at Big Cypress Bend, where it turns crystal clear to the head springs. From Rogers Park, it’s about 45 minutes to reach us. Staying farther downstream adds more time, and outgoing tides make it tougher. See photos for a map and river details.
