Description
Secluded cottagecore woodland retreat on acreage with natural stream. Deer (often with fawns), turkeys, rabbits, and birds roam freely beneath towering forest trees and star-filled skies. Immersive woodland murals, whimsical florals, antiques, and modern comforts create a space unlike any typical rental. No TVs by design—just games, music, quiet, and connection. Feels worlds away, yet close to everything you need. 7 min to stores/movies, 12 min to south Ann Arbor, 20 min to UM. The space What Makes This Home Different This is not a standard short-term rental. It was designed as an experience, not a checklist of amenities. * True seclusion on 20 acres with private trails, wildlife, old forest trees, and star-filled skies * An immersive, cottagecore experience filled with woodland murals, whimsical florals, antiques, and soulful details throughout * Intentional comfort: high-quality beds, cloud sofa, down and cotton linens. A mixture of high-quality antiques with updated amenities. * No TVs by design. This space is meant to help you connect with yourself, one another and the world around you. TVs have been replaced with board games, books, music, and spaces meant for presence and connection. However, the house is outfitted with Wi-Fi for personal devices * Better than a park with freedom to explore, wander, and connect with nature in a private, secluded setting * Peaceful and private, but close to Ann Arbor and everyday necessities Guests often tell us they’ve never stayed anywhere quite like this, and that’s exactly the point! :) A Few Gentle Notes for Guests * This home is best enjoyed by guests who value quiet, care, and intention. * The setting is naturally peaceful, and we ask that guests help preserve that calm, especially in the evenings. * This is a screen-free space by choice, designed to encourage slowing down and being present. * Wildlife is part of the experience; we ask guests to engage respectfully * The home is thoughtfully curated; we appreciate guests treating the space, furnishings, and artwork with care. If you’re seeking a place to unplug, reconnect, and experience a slower, more grounded way of being, you’ll feel right at home here. Guest access With exception of the basement and garage, guests have full, private access to the home and are warmly invited to explore the surrounding property. You’re welcome to enjoy all interior spaces of the house, as well as the clearly marked yard areas and walking trails throughout the 20-acre property. There is plenty of space to wander, explore, and spend time in nature, whether that’s a slow morning walk, an afternoon beside the stream, or a quiet evening under the trees. For privacy and safety, we ask that guests remain within the posted and marked areas. Signage is in place to guide you, and we appreciate your help in respecting those boundaries. The entire stay is fully private, with no shared spaces. Wildlife is part of the experience here, and we ask that animals be observed and not intentionally scared from the land. Other things to note Nature & Setting This is a wooded, natural property. You may encounter insects, poisonous plants, uneven ground, fallen leaves, mud, snow, or wildlife depending on the season. Wildlife is common and close; guests should observe from a distance and avoid feeding animals. Quiet & Pace The home is designed for quiet enjoyment and rest. It’s best suited for guests who appreciate calm evenings and a slower pace. Sound travels differently in the woods; voices and music carry more than you might expect. Screen-Free Intent There are no televisions by design. Wi-Fi is available, but the home encourages unplugging, conversation, reading, music, and presence. Comfort & Care The home is thoughtfully curated with antiques, artwork, and natural materials. We ask guests to treat the space with care and mindfulness. This is not a party or event space. Exploration & Safety Guests are welcome to explore clearly marked yard areas and trails. Please follow posted signage and remain within designated areas.
