Red Barns Retreat is a thoughtfully updated farmhouse nestled on a peaceful family farm in Ashford, Alabama. The space The Space Red Barn’s Retreat is a lovingly restored family farmhouse nestled on peaceful farmland in Ashford, Alabama. Once my grandparents’ home, this charming farmhouse carries decades of treasured memories — and we hope it becomes part of yours. Thoughtfully updated while preserving its warmth, the home is designed for rest, connection, and slow Southern mornings. Restful Bedrooms The farmhouse comfortably sleeps guests across three inviting bedrooms: • Primary bedroom with a king bed • Second bedroom with two twin beds • Third bedroom with a queen bed Three of the beds are beautiful handmade Reid Classics beds, crafted by our family with heirloom-quality detail. A fourth is currently in production and will soon complete the set. Every bedroom features a Reid Classics mattress — offering the kind of exceptional comfort you won’t typically find in a rental. We believe a peaceful getaway begins with truly restorative sleep. Gather & Unwind • Cozy living room with sofa, two comfortable chairs, and TV • Separate sitting area perfect for reading or playing games • Dining area with table and chairs for shared meals Whether you're enjoying a family dinner, board games in the evening, or a quiet afternoon with a book, the layout encourages togetherness. The Front Porch The front porch is one of the farmhouse’s most beloved features. Rocking chairs invite you to sip your morning coffee as the farm wakes up, or unwind in the evening as the sun sets over the farm. A Note About Stairs From the carport, guests step up into the main level of the home, which includes the kitchen, bedrooms, and living areas. Inside, there is a small set of approximately three steps. Please keep this in mind if mobility is a concern. A Living Garden Behind the home, my mother tends a beautiful seasonal garden filled with vegetables and flowers. You may see her working among the blooms — feel free to say hello. If timing allows, she may even share fresh produce with you. Red Barn’s Retreat is more than just a place to stay — it’s a place to slow down, breathe deeply, and experience the peaceful rhythm of farm life while resting in handcrafted comfort. Other things to note A Few Helpful Notes • The home was originally built in the 1960s and retains some of its original character. The shower drain runs a bit slower than modern construction. We are aware of this and appreciate your patience. • From the carport, guests step up into the main level of the home, and inside there is a small set of approximately three steps. Please keep this in mind if mobility is a concern. • We do have a sweet beagle puppy who lives next door. You may occasionally hear him bark during the day, as puppies sometimes do. He is brought inside at night, so evenings are typically quiet unless we are away from home.
