This thoughtfully designed studio features incredible sunsets, natural light, modern finishes, and peaceful ocean views just minutes from Black Sands Beach and Shelter Cove’s scenic coastline. The space includes a full kitchen, spa-style bathroom, cozy living area with sofa bed, and two sleeping lofts — one with a queen bed and one with a twin bed. The lofts are accessed by steep stairs and have low ceilings with crawl-in sleeping spaces, adding to the unique and cozy layout of the home. Guests can enjoy outdoor seating with ocean views, a private entrance, free parking, and a quiet atmosphere ideal for couples, remote workers, hikers, surfers, and digital detox travelers. The studio is attached to the main home but feels private and tucked away. Limited cell service in the area makes it an ideal place to unplug, relax, and experience the rugged beauty of the Lost Coast. Guest access Guests have a private entrance through French doors with self check-in via lockbox and a dedicated parking space large enough for SUVs and larger vehicles. The studio includes a private outdoor seating area with ocean views, perfect for enjoying morning coffee or sunset evenings on the Lost Coast. The space is attached to our home, with the guest suite located downstairs and our living space upstairs, but it is designed to feel peaceful, quiet, and private. Guests may occasionally see us in the shared driveway or near the shared garbage, recycling, and compost area between the houses. Please note that the property has some uneven gravel ground outdoors, and the sleeping lofts are accessed by steep stairs and low crawl-in spaces. The neighborhood is quiet and great for relaxing walks along the peaceful coastal roads nearby. Other things to note The Lost Coast is known for its peaceful pace, quiet neighborhoods, and incredibly dark night skies. We’re proud to be part of a respectful and private community, and we ask guests to help us preserve that atmosphere during their stay. Quiet hours and mindful outdoor noise are especially appreciated in the evenings. Because of the natural darkness along the Lost Coast, we also ask guests to turn off outdoor lights before going to bed whenever possible. The night skies here are beautiful, and reducing excess light helps support the area’s ongoing dark sky efforts while making stargazing even more incredible. Our home also operates on an off-grid solar power system with battery backup and generator support. We simply ask guests to be thoughtful with energy use by turning off heaters, lights, and appliances when not in use.
