Description

Very spacious, private Garden Room with large en-suite shower, set in secluded garden. Comfy double bed in large room (5m x 5m) with lots of natural light. Pull down futon. Suitable for couples and families (but beware of small pond). Additional features are a pool table, fridge, tea and coffee making facilities, TV, books and DVDs. Inverbervie is a traditional, historic, quiet, safe coastal village (Royal Burgh). We are 2 minutes walk from the sea and an old railway path south to Gourdon. The space One large room split into "zones" - sleep, sit, eat/read or play pool. Large bookcase, TV and DVDs if it rains. A fridge, kettle, microwave and some dishes so you can eat in (from local takeaways or the supermarket) but no washing up sink so we will wash your dishes. A folder with leaflets of things to do. Fairly accessible - a small step into the room and a small step into the shower. Smoking allowed in the outside seating area. We try to be green and our main house has solar panels and a wood-burning stove. The room is very quiet, apart from bird song in the spring! Infants welcome. Guest access Full access to garden room, en-suite and garden. Guests have their own entrance and can come and go as they please, in privacy. However we do like to meet and chat with our guests and help them find the best local attractions. We will not normally disturb you but may need to pass through the garden to feed the hens. Other things to note Search on Inverbervie, Stonehaven and Montrose for local sights. Just a mile away is The Lang Rig (or Cairn), a Neolithic burial chamber older than the pyramids! Dunnottar Castle a few miles north was voted Best Castle in Scotland and starred in Mel Gibson's film Hamlet, while the nearby cliffs host Fowlsheugh bird sanctuary famous for its puffins. There is a flat coastal walk or cycle south to Gourdon and Johnshaven. Inverbervie Bay has a rolling pebble beach as well as a small sandy beach by the river (Bervie Water). Gourdon harbour to the south has a great pub and chip shop. St Cyrus Beach is a National Nature Reserve, while Montrose Basin is a tidal flat bird sanctuary. Fresh and smoked fish, crabs and lobsters, plus soft fruit are local delicacies. These are just some of the recommended local attractions.
