Cabin 42 is a peaceful, one-floor log cabin retreat in West Salem, near a popular racetrack. The cabin features 3 bedrooms and sleeps up to 8 with a beautiful vaulted ceiling in the living room. Set on 11 acres, enjoy pond views from the deck, scenic sunsets, and a forest backdrop perfect for exploring or relaxing. The setting feels remote and private, yet you’re close to Lodi, Wooster, Medina, Ashland, and just 1 hour from Berlin—ideal for families or couples seeking a quiet getaway. The space The cabin features three bedrooms and comfortably sleeps up to 8 guests. Two bedrooms are furnished with full-size beds, and one bedroom has a queen-size bed and living room with a sofa bed. There are two bathrooms: one includes a bathtub and toilet, and the other includes a shower and toilet. The bathroom with the shower is attached to one of the bedrooms. The living room offers a spacious, open feel with a vaulted ceiling and seating for relaxing or watching TV. The kitchen is fully equipped for preparing meals and features a gas stove, and the dining area provides space for shared meals or gatherings. Guests can enjoy time on the deck, which overlooks the pond and offers a beautiful, peaceful view. At night, the area is ideal for stargazing, accompanied by the natural sounds of wildlife. The surrounding countryside makes this a great place for walking or running along long, quiet country roads. The area is also near Amish Country, where visitors may notice traditional buildings such as schoolhouses and farmland, adding to the rural charm. Outdoor Space Fire Pit & Outdoor Seating: Our fire pit offers a relaxing space with beautiful pond view, peaceful evenings, and excellent stargazing under the open sky. Pond & Fishing: Our pond is home to fish and is perfect for peaceful CATCH AND RELEASE fishing. Please help us protect the ecosystem by releasing all fish back into the pond. To help maintain the health and appearance of our pond, we periodically use environmentally safe chemicals to control algae, cattails, and weeds. While these treatments are safe for fish, we ask that guests do not consume any fish from the pond for your safety. Pets Our cabin is pet-friendly! Well-trained, house-trained dogs are welcome, and we kindly ask guests to be mindful of any pet-related damage and take responsibility if it occurs. Guest access Guest may use all areas of the cabin, except the garage and basement. Other things to note Only the number of guests listed in the reservation may be on the property. Events, parties, or additional visitors or pets are not permitted without approval.
