Morris (Waushara County), Bighorn Lodge is surrounded by almost 50 acres of private grounds, bringing absolute peace to your holiday in every season. Drive down the ⅓ mile paved private driveway; drive past deer, turkeys, wild berry bushes, fruit trees and gated garden to a log cabin perched on the edge of a hill providing stunning views for miles. Bighorn Lodge is a rustic estate--warm and welcoming–that accommodates up to 8 adults in over 3500 ft2 of space including two king size bedrooms, a queen size bedroom, and a smaller twin size room. Spacious bathrooms on each level ensure privacy and comfort. Besides the main living room, dining room and kitchen on the main level, there is also a 3 season sitting room, laundry room, and a lower level rec room. Each space is shaped by regional influence. Every window enjoys a beautiful panoramic view of the property. The sun rises are stunning, the glow over the fields below is beautiful. There are several outdoor lounge spaces: front porch, and a huge deck, allowing you to enjoy the morning sun, have lunch and unwind. After a long day of adventure, relax indoors by the wood burning fireplace with your favorite drink, or prepare a meal in the spacious and well planned kitchen, while children enjoy a movie in the lower level rec room. Toys, games and books are plentiful. The lodge is cozy–both modern and authentic. Conveniences include– WiFi, LCD TVs displaying art, and Sonos music speakers Extra luxuries include a 2 person infrared sauna, a spacious and bright exercise room, large rec room with ping pong table and dart board. Each season brings new experiences: From electric fall colors to the first signs of berry season, Bighorn Lodge wows in all seasons. While Bighorn Lodge is its own piece of private wilderness, surrounding the property in Waushara County is many more miles of county or state land, parks and forests, with opportunities for more adventure all around. Regardless of the season, Bighorn Lodge offers countless activities and adventures. WINTER: Winter at Bighorn Lodge is pure magic — mornings sparkle with frost as the sun rises. Children giggle and clouds of breath are visible in the crisp air. Snowball fights, sledding, cross country or downhill skiing and snowshoeing are possible outdoor adventures. Inside, fires crackle and Christmas lights twinkle, casting warmth against the stillness outside. With the trees bare, the landscape stretches wide and open, offering endless views to savor. It’s a perfect time to enjoy hiking and cycling--whether on this property or around beautiful Waushara County. The meadows burst into color, the gardens overflow with herbs, flowers, and fresh vegetables, and the air hums with the sound of bees and birds. Mornings invite coffee on the deck while mist lifts from the fields, and afternoons call for nearby swimming, hiking, or exploring the property’s shaded trails. The garden is in full swing--find ripe berries, garden tomatoes, greens and green beans, and make a gorgeous bouquet of flowers. Someone grills, Someone makes cocktails. As the sun sets, gather around the firepit for s’mores or dine outdoors, savoring the warmth of good company and the scent of blooming wildflowers. The woods blaze with gold, crimson, and amber leaves, and the crisp air carries the scent of pine and woodsmoke. Days are perfect for hiking the trails, exploring the countryside, or gathering apples and pumpkins from nearby farms. Evenings invite you to curl up by the fire with a blanket and a mug of spiced cider as the wind whispers through the trees. The garden is full of pumpkins and squash, which when roasted taste just like fall. Enjoy a slow morning with baking some freshly bread. A bit about the area: Wautoma is a nearby city with about 2200 people, a beautiful downtown and some great amenities and shops! Check out Fox and Ivy, The Nest, Shasta Daisy, gifts inside Christiano's Coffee Bar and so many more. There is a great grocery store (Pick & Save), some excellent restaurants, and is only 15 minutes away. To cook or not to cook: Our local favorites Silvercryst and Moose are traditional Wisconsin Supper Clubs–serving zesty drinks, fish fries, steaks and more. Consistently great food, wonderful people and worth the trip. Silvercryst has a tiki bar in the summer and is on Silver Lake; Moose has summer volleyball league and sensational ice cream drinks. -KRB’s BBQ is delicious BBQ, open 3 seasons. Great patio, often live music -Milty Wilty is a local staple for frozen custard -Trading Post for fish fry, burgers or pizza--cozy log cottage vibes keep you warm in the winter and a beautiful deck overlooking a stream in the other seasons -Hideaway Bar is nice and close and has really good bar food -Culver's is the local favorite for butter burgers and custard -Christianos for pizza and Italian food. -Two20 for great patio dining downtown -Grimm’s for burgers -El Popo for Mexican/American -Lakeshore for pancake breakfast -Chelsea's for a coffee stop -Mt Morris Coffee shop Other local adventures: Flyte Family Farms, Wild Rose State Fish Hatchery, Amish Community Businesses, Princeton's adorable downtown, fly fishing or trout fishing, Wild Rose festivals (check out Old Fashioned Fest), swimming in local lakes or Redgranite quarry, playgrounds/splash pad, kayaking or boating Complimentary Gear to use while at Bighorn lodge: -Tennis racquets/pickleball gear (courts are at Mt Morris County Park) -Infrared sauna -Fitness center equipment -Firewood Guest access The entire home will be yours to enjoy throughout your stay, plus the gym, located in part of the detached garage. The property will also be available for hiking or biking, snowshoeing or cross country skiing, trap shooting, photography, etc. Other things to note -This is a no-smoking property -No parties -Please note property markers, and do not trespass on neighbors land.
