Take it Easy at our Tranquil Coastal Getaway, only a 40 minute drive from Downtown Tallahassee – Bring your Rods, SUP, Kayaks, and Moor your Boat at our Private Dock with a Launch Ramp just across the street! The Beach is just a 2 minute walk away if you’re looking for a Lazy day Floating around or a night out Hooking Redfish! Listen as the Ospreys fly by with their catch or view a Manatee in the Canal out back. Before bed you can enjoy Milky Way skies and maybe even spot a Shooting Star! The space No Worries! Don't worry about the stairs! An elevator can take you and your gear up to the first floor. Don't worry about getting Skunked! We catch a variety of fish out back on the canal, off the beach, or in the flats. Whether it be Sheepshead, Redfish, Black Drum, or Trout, you’re bound to catch Dinner and maybe even a PB here on the Apalachee Bay. The house comes complete with a fish cleaning station out back by the dock, and is stocked with a fillet knife, descaler, cleaning mat, and a variety of cooking accessories and seasonings. Don't worry about where to park your boat! We have a private floating dock out back on the canal that leads to the Gulf. Alternatively, you can launch at the nearby boat ramp. Don't worry about driving to the beach! It's a healthy 2 minute walk down the road, or 5 minutes to the Shell Point Beach Park. Don't worry about the electricity! A 14 Kwh solar PV system with backup from two Powerwall batteries powers the house even if the utility power goes out. There's also a 220 V outlet that can charge up your plug-in or EV at no extra charge. Please Note: The house and lot nextdoor are currently on the market and subject to showing to interested buyers. I will make every effort to avoid a showing during your stay. For bookings several months in the future, if the house sells, I will let you know and I will work with the buyer to honor your booking. If that’s not possible I may unfortunately need to cancel your booking. Guest access The house is yours! A closet in the master bathroom will not be available but a rolling wardrobe will be available for hanging clothes. The old aqua mountain bike and windsurfer on bike trailer are for host use only. I might come by to use them but will not disturb you. Other things to note Entry is via a key safe that is mounted next to the door. I will send the combination before you arrive. We’ll have a beach package available with some folding beach chairs and frisbees. We’ll also have a basic fishing package available with a couple of rods to try your luck on the canal out back or other spots. Please bring your own lures and hooks or bait. Theres a fish cleaning station under the lanai out by the canal. We’ll supply info on nearby fishing guides. If you bring your own kayak or Stand Up Paddle board (SUP) , we have racks to store them. We’ll supply contact info on available outfitters If you want to rent a kayak. Free windsurfing lessons are available (in season) through the Shell Point Sailboard Club.
