Description
Welcome to Grandma’s House! Located in the heart of the Gallatin, TN. As you walk into Grandma’s House, we want you to feel the warmth of home & family, and the nostalgia of your childhood from visiting your own Grandmother or Grandfather’s house. A lot of folks enjoy seeing antiques, but we know no one wants to sleep on an old mattress or actually have to use an outhouse. All of the important things are new, including super comfortable mattresses with soft cotton sheets, and fresh towels! The space Let’s take a tour! Carefully pull into the narrow driveway, noting there is extra space around back, but the entry door with keypad lock is located on the front door. As you enter into the front living room, you will find the cutest couch, along with a binder on the entry table, containing all of the important information and of course, local recommendations! Past the front living room, you will enter the kitchen, likely where you will spend most of your time, as it is the main corridor of the house. There is enough seating for the whole family. First and foremost - the most iconic centerpiece of them all, Grandma’s Table. Yes, the original table of Grandma. Many, many meals were made and eaten here. Many gatherings. Many families. Many friends. Many “Hi, Honey’s”. *** Special announcement for the white wicker furniture – it was our best friend’s grandmother’s patio furniture for 30 years, and we had the cushions re-upholstered. We were so excited when we came across the perfect vintage fabric to fit them from our good friend who has his Grandparent’s upholstery equipment. This kitchen is a little country-style kitchen with everything you may need to make a meal; after all, it is Grandma’s House, and what’s one thing you can always do at Grandma’s House? - EAT! As you journey through the house taking a left down the hallway, you will find : 1. “The Hallway Bath” (right) – This full bathroom will probably be the most used due to its convenient location, however we apologize in advance, there are no outlets in there. (Bathtub shower) 2. “The TV Room” (left) - There is a twin sized day bed with a bookcase full of children’s books, and some antique toys for the kids to play with. 3. “The Jack & Jill Bath” (left) – The prettiest full bathroom you’ll ever see! (Bathtub shower) 4. “Grandma’s Room” (left) – A king size bed, with all of the grandma items you could imagine. I will say, this is my most favorite room to sleep in. It is just the coziest! 5. “The Green Room” (straight) – A queen size bed, with the perfect lighting to wake you up naturally as the sun rises over the other side of the house. Back to the kitchen – continue past the refrigerator, and you will find : 1. “The Laundry Room” - There is a second refrigerator in here as well. Please refrain from entering the cleaner’s closet. 2. “The Buck Room” – A twin over full size bunk bed, and the most scenic view of “the woods” you will find in the middle of Gallatin. Directly off of the Buck Room, there is a full bathroom, please note the shower is a stall and is somewhat narrow. Back to the kitchen again – I told you, you would spend a lot of time here. The only door left to explore, will take you into a completely remodeled and modernized back living room, with a sectional couch, a full-sized couch, a loveseat, and a desk. Off of the back living room you will find : 1. The rear exit door, taking you out to either the upper porch deck with a propane grill, or down the stairs to the back part of the driveway. This is one of our favorite views, thanks to the red bridge going across our tiny tributary of Town Creek, that only has water in it when it rains. 2. The exit door on the left, taking you (or your approved pet visitor through the doggy door) into a fenced in back yard. 3. “The Primary Suite” – A king sized bed that will take your dreams into the clouds, as it is made graciously by “DreamCloud” themselves. Also including, a sleek on-suite full bathroom equipped with a zero-entry over-sized shower. *** Please note, there is a garage at the home, but we do not recommend putting any items in there as they will become dirty, and it is not locked. Our maintenance man may be entering it for lawn care needs. That completes your tour - - Now that we have gone over all of that, let’s get you booked at Grandma’s House! Guest access Guests will have access to usage of the entire house except for the cleaner’s closet, the hallway closet, and the garage. Other things to note Long-term Stays : For stays that are longer than 20 days, we have a specific booking and cancellation policy. The first 20 days is the deposit, it is due at booking, and it is non-refundable. The remaining dates are refundable until 60 days before check in. We recommend that anyone considering a long-term stay purchase a trip interruption insurance policy. Pets : Please do not try to sneak any in without getting approval. We need to make sure they are included in the damage insurance. Our pet fee is a one-time fee of $30. All dogs must be crated if left alone in the house. And sorry again, no cats period, too many people are allergic (including myself).
