Flying Geese Guesthouse

Flying Geese is the perfect rural launch for your adventures, whether it is Portland sightseeing, fishing/kayaking in our rivers, or birdwatching in the nearby wildlife refuge. After playing all day, come home and enjoy a fire outside under the stars! We are set on a 14-acre property with only 2 houses -- ours is the other. This private unit includes 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms (1 walk-in shower), full kitchen, living room, laundry room, and outdoor area. We love it here and know you will too! The space The first bedroom is larger with a comfortable queen-size bed and an en-suite bathroom with a large walk-in shower. We have a travel crib available upon request for families traveling with small children that we could set up in the master bedroom. The king bed in the second bedroom is a Tempur Pedic with electric lift options for your comfort. Another feature is that it easily converts to two XL twins for added flexibility -- let us know your preference and we'll have the beds arranged as requested upon your arrival! The furniture in the living room is all Stressless brand, and all three couch positions recline separately. There is a TV fitted with Roku so you won't miss your favorite shows, and shelves with books that you are welcome to peruse. I've picked a selection of bird ID books and binoculars for the book rack. Outside, the covered patio and outdoor dining areas look out on a cottage garden and bird feeders to attract jays, flickers, and songbirds. We are extremely close to the wildlife refuge, and it is not uncommon to see flocks of geese, ducks, pelicans, or sandhill cranes fly overhead. Other 12 month locals include owls, eagles, great blue herons, red-tail hawks, and many more. The property is a 14 acre tree farm with a mix of oak woodland and planted 20 year-old Douglas fir. We also have a big veggie garden and a young cider orchard. Since we are a working farm, you may hear an occasional chainsaw, or you may see a tractor rumble past. Such is life on a farm! Guest access The main portion of this house is yours to use. The two locked doors on the west side of the living room lead to a garage, art studio, and another guest space, which are reserved for our personal use. We may be going in and out through the garage doors while you are here, but will respect quiet hours. We will not enter the main portion of the house while you are here.
