Ninga Rai Cottage

Ninga Rai is a 5 ha. property overlooking a splendid natural scenery at the heart of historical Maramures. We integrated nature and housing in one single hospitality concept, offering style and comfort while being surrounded by the beauty of rural life in one of the most untouched landscapes in Romania. The traditional mountain cottage has been refurbished to modern comfort standards. Ninga Rai is the perfect base for visiting the surrounding region. The space We rent the entire 140 sqm countryside house, offering one of the best lodging experiences in Romania. The patio is a magical place for breakfasts, dinners and lazy day-resting, while the hammocks are waiting for you in the nearby gazebo and in the orchards. The house interiors are a soft blend of rural and classical styles, mixing antique furniture with local workmanship. We built everything with local people and we highly appreciated their ability to give our house a “traditional heart” while respecting our urban needs. At the first floor there are two sleeping rooms: the main one with a king size bed and the small one with two single beds; two additional sleeping places can be added for bigger families. The Alcove is a special corner, dedicated to reading, relaxing and admiring the panorama. The first floor has its own bathroom. The ground floor offers multiple spaces: a dining room, a living room, “the writers corner”, a bathroom and a fully equipped kitchen with direct access to the patio. Guest access The entire house, the gazebo and the 5 ha property are at your disposal. Other things to note Summer months can be hot with fresh evenings and nights. Winter snow is magic and you can enjoy sliding around the slopes. Poienile Izei gets alive during the many religious celebrations.
