Grandpa Mate House

Back in 1930, after leaving Dragove to work in New York , grandpa Mate built a beautiful house opposite the old one in harmony with nature surroundings. Almost 90 years later we’re following the very same path of grandpa Mate by retaining the originality of the house and combining it with modern retro comfort. Grandpa Mate House is based on Dugi Otok at the edge of the village Dragove. The house was restored in 2017. The space It has a fully equipped kitchen with a gas stove and refrigerator with mini freezer, wooden stairway, a large hallway and two sleeping rooms in the first floor and spacious bathroom and a hallway in the ground floor. The sleeping rooms are equipped with queen size beds, high quality mattresses and cable TV. All windows are protected with a built-in, solid and easy to use mosquito net. On the ground floor there is a living room with the kitchen, bathroom and a hall. On the first floor there are two bedrooms and a hall. The house is air-conditioned. Other things to note The house and the village are an ideal place to stay for those wanting to escape from the crowds. Dragove is in the middle of Dugi otok, a perfect place for families with children as well as bikers, hikers and joggers. Well known sandy beaches Veli Žal and Sakarun, the imposing lighthouse Veli Rat and the Natural Park Telašćica are 5 to 20 min ride.
