Rustic Farm House Charm - Short Drive to Ft. Worth

My wife, Kelly, and I are proud to own (and co-host) this charming, spacious property that we just completely renovated in 2025. In the old grainhouse behind the old mill, “The Farm House Suite”, one of two separate suites (in a building similar to a duplex), has a big living room with nine foot ceilings, kitchen (with Toshiba countertop oven, fridge, microwave, Keurig, dishwasher) and a good sized bedroom. A person can sleep on the couch and two others on our queen auto inflate air mattress. The space The duplexed "Grainhouse Tavern” is made up of two suite units. These units are in the re-purposed grain house for “The Old Mill in Rhome,” which is a planned multi-phase commercial development on the site of the oldest roller milling operation in Texas (operated from the 1890s to the 1960s), and the site where “Lady Liberty,” the 16 foot statue on the Texas Capitol, was renovated and restored at a foundry that operated on the property in 1985 (the one time she has come down from on top of the Capitol). We dubbed the while building “The Grainhouse Tavern” because it was the grain house when the mill was in operation but also because it looks like an old tavern that you might find in the woods of yesteryear. The two suites are dubbed “The Ranch House Suite” and “The Farm House Suite” because of the styles in which they were both designed and decorated. The Farmhouse Suite - This AirBnb ad/post is for the “Farmhouse Suite,” where you’ll find an open concept consisting of a large living area with kitchen and bar. The living room has plenty of seating and a 65” TV. There is also a large farmhouse table with benches. The living area is designed with lots of barn wood accents along with ornate ceiling tiles. There is also a brick German smeared wood burning fireplace that was built by hand (by me) during the 2025 renovation. We will provide firewood and starter during the cooler months. The Kitchen- The kitchen bar is built with rustic elements and 8 barstools that are perfect if you decide to have a small gathering. Covered with a rusted tin ceiling and matching ceiling box fans, the kitchen has all you need to cook a good meal. The countertop Toshiba convection oven will allow you to bake, broil, and toast. The two countertop stove burners will enable you to heat up some soup or fry some eggs. The kitchen also has a Keurig coffee maker and a Frigidaire refrigerator. There is a dishwasher but there isn’t a garbage disposal so please do not put any solid foods or waste down the kitchen sink. If you need to store some things for a long term stay, there is a full size walk in pantry. The Bedroom - The bedroom, that is decorated with a “Cowboys and Indians theme,” is large enough not to be cramped. If the door is locked to the bedroom and bathroom, and the barn door between the bedroom and bathroom is open, the room becomes even more spacious. The bedroom has a giant walk-in closet with hangers and hanging hardware along with a full sized dresser to store away your traveling wardrobe. The Bathroom - In the bathroom, there is an oversized custom ordered toilet, a large vanity, and a large walk-in shower. Guest access Guests will have access to all of “The Farm House Suite” which is half of “The Grainhouse Tavern” inn. If you also rent “The Ranch House Suite,” a code can be provided for the divider door so that you have access to the whole grain house. If “The Ranch House Suite” is available on your travel dates, it should be accessible through a property search on AirBnB. Other things to note *A Few Caveats about “The Farm House Suite” There are about five stair steps to get up onto the porch in order to access the front door. If you are a light sleeper, this might not be for you because the entire old mill complex is only feet from the railroad. The railroad runs through the back of the property. It is only feet away from the house so - if you are a light sleeper, this isn't the place for you. At different times during the day, the large window in the living room casts a glare from the sun onto the television. If you’re a big daytime TV watcher, this might not be the place for you. There is a dishwasher in the kitchen but there is no garbage disposal so please do not wash food and waste down the kitchen sink. There is a shower but no bath tub.
