“Ranch House Suite” - 20 Min. From FW Stockyards

My wife, Kelly, and I are proud to own (and co-host) this charming, spacious property that we just completely renovated in 2025. In the old grain house behind the old mill, “The Ranch House Suite,” one of two separate suites (in a building similar to a duplex), has a big living room, a spacious bedroom (with mini fridge, microwave, and Keurig), and a large office space. Two people can sleep in the queen size bed and two others can sleep on our queen auto inflate air mattress. The space The Entire Property - “The Grainhouse Tavern” is made up of two suite units in the re-purposed grain house for “The Old Mill in Rhome,” which is a planned multi-phase commercial development on the site of the oldest roller mill in Texas (operated from the 1890s to the 1960s), and the site where “Lady Liberty,” the 16 foot statue on the Texas Capitol, was renovated and restored at a foundry that operated on the property in 1985 (the one time she has come down from on top of the Capitol). The Entire Two Unit Guest Building/Structure- We dubbed the building “The Grainhouse Tavern” because it was the grain house when the mill was in operation but also because it looks like an old tavern that you might find in the woods of yesteryear. The two suites are dubbed “The Ranch House Suite” and “The Farm House Suite” because of the styles in which they were both designed and decorated. Your Suite/Unit- As mentioned above, in “The Ranch House Suite,” you will find a large living area, a big bedroom, and a nice sized study. The Living Room- The big living room is perfect for reading a book, chatting with loved ones, and relaxing in general. Decorated in “ranch house” style, it is reminiscent of a hotel lobby in the old west. There is a giant wood burning river rock fireplace that I made by hand. We will provide firewood and starter so that it can be used and enjoyed during season. The Bedroom - The “barn bedroom” is probably the most unique room. The rustic furniture is made out of old barn wood, the rusted wall tin came off of old barns in New England, and the old barn window came from a barn in Kentucky. In addition to being a bedroom, it also seconds as a bar area. The 58” TV, bar, and barstools gives our guests a place to hang out and watch a game or a movie. Furnished with a mini fridge with small freezer, microwave, and Keurig coffee maker, you have your basic necessities met in the bedroom. The Study - “The library” gives our guests the perfect place to work or do a little writing. With plenty of extra seating (including a unique 97 inch leather bench), the office also provides a great place for a business meeting on the road. Guest access Guests will have access to all of “The Ranch House Suite” with the exception of one small private closet that is in the library. “The Ranch House Suite” is half of “The Grainhouse Tavern” inn. If you also rent “The Farm House Suite,” a code can be provided for the divider door so that you have access to the whole grain house. If “The Farm House Suite” is available on your travel dates, it should be accessible through a property search on AirBnB. Other things to note Please note that there are about five stair steps to get onto the front porch in order to access the front door. Once inside, there are also about five stair steps to get to the bathroom. There is not a switch in this suite for the front porch lights but the soffit lights around the perimeter of the house provide ample lighting. Those security lights are on an automatic timer. They turn on around dark and go off during the early morning hours. The active railroad runs through the back of the property. It is only feet away so if you're a light sleeper, this might not be the place for you.
