Big Bear Hostel is a modern shared lodge right in the village! Walk to best restaurants, shopping, lakeside park. Private room, with 2 bunk beds. 3 twin beds and 1 double size bottom bed. 6 foot long sturdy adult size beds. Stairs to upper bunks. Good for a couple +1-2 friends. (4 guests Max). This is a small sleeping room, but you have a huge shared living/dining room area to use as well. Shared bathrooms, full kitchen and living room with amazing lake views. Amazing village location is right next to marina/shops/restaurants/entertainment. We offer deluxe or budget private bedrooms and shared bunk rooms. We are 1 mile to the ski resort. HOSTEL QUICK DETAILS Bedding and towel is provided. Beds are made with sheets, pillow case, and folded blanket. Please bring your own bathroom items. Pets are not allowed. Only registered guests allowed on the property. No visitors. The building has central heating set ~70F/21C. No cooling/AC. Big Bear has cool mountain air 99% of the year. Fans available in room. Quiet hours from 10 PM - 8 AM There is no room cleaning service available during your stay. All entrances have keypad security locks. No curfew once checked in. Valid ID matching reservation name must be presented at check in. Our missing is to serve recreational travelers to Big Bear. IDs must be from outside the area and we reserve the right to refuse service to anyone. This is not a party hostel. We are family friendly. Please don't stay with us if you plan to stay out late drinking at the bar. If you disturb other guests while intoxicated you will be kicked out (evicted) with no refund. We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone. Disturbing other guests will not be tolerated. If you snore, please don't book a shared bunk room! If the dates you want say "Request", we will get back to you within 24 hours and/or waitlist you so you get first dibs when we open those dates for bookings. The common areas are kitchen, living room, dining room, bathrooms, and large deck. Each bedroom and the building entrances have keypad code entry locks. You will receive your codes via app/text when check in is available. We do not provide any meals. You can cook your own meals or eat out at over 20 fantastic restaurants nearby. Walk to pizza, burgers, Thai, French crepes, Poki bowl, Himalayan, sandwich shop, steak house, Mexican, barbecue, Chinese, Indian, sushi, ice cream, candy shop, Hawaiian, tacos, pancakes, brew pubs and more! (McDonald's, Taco Bell, El Pollo Loco, Carl's Jr are all walking distance as well.) Location The hostel is next to Big Bear Village with a convenience store, 20 restaurants, visitor center, marina, nightlife, shopping, bike/kayak/paddleboard rental shop, bowling, movies, bus stop, lakeside parks, hiking and more within a 5 minute walk. The ski resort is 1 mile away and there is a free shuttle bus 2 times per hour from around the corner. But its usually faster to drive to the resort's free parking lot. Our driveway is behind Getboards snowboard shop between two trees. Look for the "Big Bear Group Cabins" sign. (same location) Parking We have free parking on site on a first come basis. Plenty of overflow next door. We can always direct you where to park. Reservations required - No walk up customers allowed. Check - in: 4pm-10pm Check out: before 10am or you will be charged a $25 late check out fee. In rare cases, check in may be delayed due to busy housekeeping schedules. Early Check in / Check out We never guarantee early check in or late check out. You can request early arrival or late departure in our MyTrips app after a confirmed booking. There may be a fee for adjusted arrival/departure times. If your request can be accommodated, we will approve it and you will be notified and charged whether you arrive early or not as we have to pay someone to be ready for your arrival time. See below* There is a minimum 3% fee on most cancellations. This is how much it costs us to process refund transactions. Cancellations within 24hours of booking are eligible for 100% refund if booked at least 72 hours before arrival time. Cancellations up to 14 days before arrival receive a 97% refund. Within 7-14 days of arrival, cancels receive a 50% refund. Within 7 days of arrival there are no refunds for cancellations. Changes/Modifications We don't offer free changes to reservations dates. You would have to cancel and rebook a new reservation, and the above cancel fees apply. *Holiday Dates: Dec. 15 - January 7th. 4th of July weekend. Memorial Day, Labor Day, President's Day weekend, MLK weekend. Thanksgiving week. If you have any issues on concerns during your stay, please let us know right away using our message system, my co-host lives right next door and we want to make sure you are comfortable during your stay. We do not offer refunds for complaints after your stay if you have not given us a chance to address your concerns. Security We have 24/7 security cameras on the outside entrances. All entrances have keypad security locks. No curfew once checked in. We serve international travelers and tourist visitors to Big Bear. Only registered guests are allowed in our buildings. For everyone's safety, all guests staying in the hostel must be registered before check in. You can send a picture of everyone's ID, or present them to us at arrival. IDs must be from outside the area. We also require a credit card matching the name on the reservation at check in. We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone. The manager is on site 24/7. Please call if you have any issues with other guests. This unit has a base price for 1 guest and extra guests cost $20-30 per person each night.
