Enjoy direct lake access for swimming, a private dock, fishing, a pellet stove, Wi-Fi, Smart TV, and a firepit (wood not provided). One dog is welcome with a $75 pet fee, and the cottage offers a fully equipped kitchen, laundry, and parking for 2–3 cars, all tucked in a quiet, scenic setting with one neighboring property for added privacy. Guest access Freshwater Vacation Rentals will email your arrival/departure instructions with door/lock box code. You will let yourselves in and out. Other things to note FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS Air Conditioning: There is not central air, but there is a large ceiling fan in living area and 2 fans in loft ATV's: Not on site but there are trails within 10 minutes! Animals: Bear, ducks, raccoons, deer, and various other small animals Bathrooms: Main floor- Shower, toilet, and sink Beach/Swimming: Yes, swim from the property, there are steps and a dock to swim from(Water gets deep fast) Bedroom Configurations: Main Floor primary bedroom-Queen size bed Loft- 2 twins Boats: Row boat, single kayak and pedal boat available for use from June 1st-Labor Day Boat Launch: There is not a public launch on this lake Cable: No, but there is a Smart TV capable of streaming! Cell Phone Service: Cellphone service can be spotty so please use WIFI calling when at property Coffee Maker: Yes, 10 cup drip, coffee provided Distances: Fumee Lake Natural Area: 19 minutes (14.8 miles) Ford Dam Falls: 28 minutes (19.4 miles) Piers Gorge Scenic Hiking Trails: 31 minutes (28.2 miles) Mackinaw Bridge: 3 hours & 18 minutes (198 miles) Green Bay, WI: 2 hours (114 miles) Dock: Yes, private dock available between June 1st and Labor Day Drinking Water: Drinkable well water Drugs/Smoking/Fireworks: Freshwater does not permit illegal drugs of any kind on the property. Due to the location of the properties, smoking is strongly discouraged around the home and strictly prohibited in the home. Fireworks are prohibited at a Freshwater location for the safety of all persons in and around the property, even if it is legal in that city. Fireplace: Not a traditional fireplace but it does have a pellet stove Fire-pit: Yes, wood not provided Fishing: Yes, great fishing for bluegill, perch, and bass Fishing License: A license is required to fish in Michigan. Just like a hotel, the beds will be made for you upon arrival. We have just the basic sheets, pillows, pillowcases, and bath towels. Parking: 2 to3 cars Pets: 1 dog is allowed at property. Freshwater Vacation Rentals currently charges $75/per pet for your entire stay. Yes, we do accept dogs, yet we do ask that you please clean up after them both inside and outside the cabin. Plus, if you allow them on the furniture, we do ask that you please bring your own linens/blankets for them to sleep on. Just let us know which bed you will be using with them, and we’ll make sure it is ready for your sheets when you arrive. Plus, if the pet hair starts to build, we do ask that you please run the vacuum. Generally, dogs love the water and places to explore. Pet food does tend to attract mice, so vigilance is needed. Privacy: One Neighbor in view Snowmobiles: a person (resident and nonresident) that operates a snowmobile in Michigan is required to purchase a snowmobile trail permit. The trail permit enables snowmobilers to ride state-designated trails and thousands more miles of public roads and on public lands (where authorized). It is valid for one year, which begins Oct. 1 and ends Sept. 30 of the following year. State-designated trails are open Dec. 1-March 31 and grooming occurs when there is enough snow on the ground.
