Rathlin River Retreat is a luxurious coastal getaway perched on a bluff overlooking the Corrotoman River. Relax by the pool, launch a kayak or paddleboard, or rent a boat and dock it right out front. The large game room (ping pong & foosball) is perfect for kids, while the private cottage offers quiet comfort. Easy drive to Kilmarnock, Irvington, and White Stone. The space Perfect for families or small groups, this peaceful property invites you to lounge by the pool, paddle through the quiet cove on provided kayaks and paddle boards, or bring your boat and explore. Inside, you’ll find plenty of ways to unwind — from the large game room with ping-pong and foosball to the sunroom with stunning sunset views. The separate in-law cottage offers privacy and comfort for those who want their own retreat. Just a short drive to Kilmarnock, Irvington, and White Stone, this is Northern Neck relaxation at its best. Chef services, charcuterie boards, fishing charters, and special occasion packages are also available upon request. THE HOME Your vacation begins the moment you turn down the long, tree-lined drive. Two theatrical statues welcome you at the gate — then, as you reach the circular drive, the river view takes your breath away. Send the kids to the game room for foosball and ping pong while you wander to the bluff’s edge to take in the tranquil Corrotoman River. Walk down to the private dock to get closer to the water. (Note: The boat at the dock is not for guest use, but guests are welcome to bring and dock their own boats. For launch details, visit Yankee Point Marina in Lancaster.) Heading back up, the pool awaits — overlooking the cove and surrounded by lounge chairs and patio seating. It’s the perfect spot to read, nap, or sip something cold while watching the river sparkle below. Inside, the sunroom is a highlight — enjoy your morning coffee or an evening cocktail while watching the sunset. This northwest-facing space offers panoramic views and doubles as a cozy gathering spot (and, let’s be honest, a great spot to check your phone... but try not to!). From the sunroom, move easily between the well-equipped kitchen, the comfortable living room with a breakfast or poker table, and the cozy family room stocked with books and games from the small library. Down the hall are the bedrooms: Primary King Suite with private bath Fun Room with two queen beds Bunk Room that sleeps four (two bunks) The latter two rooms share a newly renovated bath. THE COTTAGE The private guest cottage sits just steps from the main home. It’s perfect for grandparents, a couple seeking quiet, or anyone who appreciates a bit more privacy. This renovated suite features a king bed, full bath, and — yes — a towel warmer. Treat yourself and call dibs! THE GAME ROOM Get ready for some fun! The spacious game room includes ping pong, foosball, and darts, plus comfy seating for spectators. It’s the perfect hangout for kids or adults who are kids at heart. Guest access Guests have full access to the main house, guest cottage, pool, dock, and game room. Other things to note Maximum occupancy: 10 guests (6 adults max). No pets allowed. Local boarding recommendations available upon request. This is a quiet, peaceful retreat shared with older neighbors along the cove. Sound travels easily on the water. Please respect quiet hours from 10 PM–7 AM, and keep outdoor noise moderate during the day. A noise monitor is in place to ensure neighborhood tranquility. The property sits in a natural, wooded area, so occasional wildlife sightings (deer, squirrels, frogs, etc.) are part of the experience. Doors should remain closed and food kept indoors. No feeding wildlife. Jellyfish can appear near the dock at certain times of year — wear water shoes and use caution when swimming.
