Cozy Cabin in the City

This unique place has a style all its own. It is not big - only 12' x 8' but is a perfect size for an office during the day and a bedroom at night. The couch converts to a bed. Sitting in our backyard, just steps from the back doors, it is insulated, has electricity, wifi, air conditioning and a heater. You have access to the house for use of a shared bathroom and kitchen. You can use the backyard for hanging out, eating, or grilling. There is a private entrance on the side of the house as well. The space Our cozy cabin is in the backyard of our home in a typical southwest Denver suburban neighborhood. It serves as both a workspace and a bedroom and is just steps from the back doors of the house where you can enter and use a shared bathroom and kitchen. There is a private entrance to the backyard and the cabin on one side of the house so you don’t have to come in and out through the house when you arrive and leave. The cabin has a deadbolt so is very secure. The cabin is fully insulated, has electricity, wifi, air conditioning and a heater. During the day the cabin has a living room type feel with a couch, open area, and shelving and a desk if you want to use it as an office. The desk serves as a desk or converts to a table. This day time area is comfortable to just hang out. At night the couch pulls out as a bed for one or two people. It is a full size mattress, so it works for two people but isn’t as large as a queen size bed. It is comfortable (unlike memories of your grandparents pull out couch - ha!). As the cabin sits in the backyard, you can also use the backyard seating areas, one in the grass and another on the back porch. From the backyard there are two entrances into the back of the house, through the exterior kitchen door or the sliding glass door. Please see the pictures showing where the doors are in relation to the cabin. You will have a key to the house (in addition to your key to the cabin) so you can come in and out as you please to use the shared bathroom and kitchen. You would be sharing the bathroom and kitchen with us or visiting family and friends, not other Air BnB clients. The bathroom has a shower and tub in addition to other typical bathroom items. The kitchen is a full kitchen. We like to offer use of it, but please use it “lightly” as in for necessities but not for making time consuming meals or long periods of time as we will all be sharing it. NOTE: There is NOT a bathroom or kitchen in the cabin. You go into the house to use the shared bathroom and kitchen. You can enter any time of day. See pictures to see how close the cabin is to the back doors of the house. NOTE: The cabin is completely insulated and has a heater that keeps it cozy in the winter and an air conditioner that keeps it cool in the summer. It has electricity and wifi, but no running water. Our house is a one-story ranch style home with two bedrooms and two bathrooms and the cabin out back. We have two friendly cats that also use the backyard. If you stay with us we ask that you are very alert to keeping the back yard gates closed so the cats can’t get out. They are not super slick escape artists. They don’t try to rush out. But if the gate is left open one will eventually wander out and we don’t want to lose our babies. Guest access When you come and go you will be able to do so via a private entrance/sidewalk on one side of the house that leads to a gate into the back yard. You don’t have to come in and out through the house. You will have a key to the cabin and a key to the house. More detailed instructions will be given if you book a stay. There is plenty of free street parking. There is also a bus stop within one block and light rail throughout the city, in addition to Uber and Lyft. You will have access to a shared bathroom. that is inside the house. You will walk through a shared part of the house to get to it. You would be sharing it with other house guests that are family or friends, if we have any at the time you are here. You won’t be sharing it with other Air BnB clients. We like to give access to the necessities of a kitchen but please use it “lightly”, as in feel free to cook but not time-consuming meals. Feel free to put some things in the fridge but not fill it up with lots of things. We will be sharing the space with you. During your stay We are very friendly but are likely to just welcome you, get you set up and then go on with our day. We won’t want to hang out or bother you but are happy to answer questions and chat if you need. Other things to note This is a calm suburban neighborhood. No parties. City quiet time, and our quiet time, is at 10 pm No marijuana on the property. Smoking cigarettes is ok ONLY OUTSIDE - NOT IN THE CABIN or in the house. The cabin has a lovely cedar smell and we do not want that altered. If you have friends or family in the Denver area that you want to invite over, please ask us first. The cabin is not large. We may be ok with them spending time with you in the back yard but we would like to know ahead of time and decide if it would work well or not. We have two awesome cats who live inside/outside. As long as the two backyard fence gates are closed they cannot get out and won’t even try. They don’t climb the fences. But they will wander out an open gate door.
