This river is considered the best swamp-regulated river in the province of León, since its free areas are considered free waters under a no-kill fishing regime, with the areas of reserves and Arec being the areas with the possibility of taking some piece always within the fishing regulations of the autonomous community, both in quota and in the working period for it. Beautiful rivers with incredible landscapes and native trout, which will make you lose track of time. These two rivers are about 20 minutes to the beginning of their fishing places, being able to go up parallel to the riverbed. Both have beautiful hiking trails for adventurous companions such as the well-known climb to Lake Truchillas in the Leonese Cabrera. Other things to note Shopping: The baker continues to come to Requejo de la Vega daily with his freshly made bread and his rich homemade and natural pastries, making one of his stops 50 meters from the house. A greengrocer and a fishmonger also make their rounds of the village once a week. A ten-minute walk will take you to the Dia Supermarket located at the entrance to La Bañeza, and there are supermarkets throughout the city: Eroski, Mercadona, Rodríguez, Sánchez, Día, Familia... Recreation areas: Near the house there are numerous recreational areas that can be accessed on foot, as well as the great municipal swimming pools of La Bañeza. Bars and restaurants: About 200 meters from the house there is a good and inexpensive restaurant bar called El Olivar and a little further away, but equally accessible, is La Barraca which is the restaurant bar of the Paulón Bridge where we also have a picnic area and recreation area next to the Órbigo River. La Bañeza has a large number of bars and restaurants. Visits and excursions: The location of the house is ideal for visiting various emblematic places in the province of León, from the capital located 40 km away, Astorga and the Camino de Santiago 22 km away, Ponferrada, Las Médulas and the Valle del Silencio 100 km away (by highway), the Comarca de la Cabrera 60 km away and countless places that our beautiful province has. Nights out: Requejo de la Vega is a very quiet village but its proximity to La Bañeza means that you can also enjoy a great nightlife in its bars and pubs. Festivals: In Requejo de la Vega the official festivals are held in June and September, but the villagers, given their cheerful and welcoming character, organize a festival dedicated to the summer vacationer on the first Saturday of August with a barbecue, music and fun. The Bañeza City Council organizes different festivals and events throughout the summer to promote tourism. The most important are the patron saint festivities in the week of August 15, culminating in the famous motorcycle race on the only urban circuit in Spain today. All events, as well as information on routes, excursions, gastronomy, etc. are reflected on the website of the La Bañeza tourist office.
