Rooms are located above an active bar and restaurant. Due to the building’s age, music and voices may be heard, especially in the evening. We lower music and call last call at 11 PM, but some noise should be expected. The Wilson House Inn offers seven individually appointed hotel-style rooms, each with a private en-suite bathroom and secured, individual guest access. Every room is designed for comfort, privacy, and convenience—ideal for both short and extended stays. Guests enjoy the independence of separate entry, allowing for a flexible and personalized experience. Each room maintains the charm of the historic inn while providing modern essentials to ensure a restful stay. Whether you're booking a single room or reserving multiple for a group, the Wilson House Inn provides a welcoming, self-contained lodging option in a classic setting. Most of our less-than-favorable reviews have one thing in common: the guest arrived expecting something different from what we are able to offer. We truly want you to be delighted here! The Wilson House is a quaint, historic inn in an 1844 building that is very special to our community—but a nearly 200-year-old building, although recently completely renovated, comes with some quirks. A few important things to know: Our guest rooms are accessed only by a spiral staircase, which may be difficult for guests with mobility issues. We are not lakefront. Lake Ontario is approximately two long blocks away. Our rooms are directly above our restaurant and bar. We observe quiet hours from 11 p.m.–8 a.m., but this historic building is not soundproof, so you should expect to hear some activity from below. Please keep showers brief. Because of the age and construction of the building, our fire alarms are intentionally very sensitive, and excessive steam can trigger them. We take protecting this historic landmark seriously—and we also don't want our volunteer fire department spending valuable time and resources responding to an unnecessary alarm. As with many historic inns, we simply cannot offer every amenity or feature you might find in a modern hotel. What we can offer is a charming, unique stay in a building with nearly two centuries of history and a wonderful home base for enjoying Wilson and Lake Ontario. Please make sure our little historic inn is the experience you're looking for before booking. We'd much rather set the right expectations now and have you leave delighted later. Guest access Please note: While the Wilson House Restaurant is fully handicap-accessible, THE GUEST ROOMS ARE NOT HANDICAP-ACCESSIBLE. All rooms are located on upper floors and require stair access; there is no elevator or accessible room option at this time due to the building’s historic structure. Each room offers secure, contactless entry via a personal key box—no in-person check-in required. We are committed to providing a comfortable experience for all guests and are exploring future accessibility improvements. If you have mobility concerns, please contact us prior to booking. With seven guest rooms in the inn, you may occasionally cross paths with fellow travelers in the shared hallway—perhaps even make a new friend along the way. While the atmosphere is welcoming and communal, each room offers complete privacy, including your own secured space and private en-suite bathroom for your comfort. Just a quick note about housekeeping during your stay with us. For stays longer than one week, we consider our guests more like residents than overnight guests. Because our long-term rates are discounted, we do not automatically enter your room for routine cleaning or linen changes. We also want you to be able to settle in and enjoy your space with as little interruption as possible. If you would like fresh bed linens or towels, simply send us a message here and we’ll be happy to provide them. If you would like your room fully cleaned, we can absolutely arrange that as well. There is a $50 cleaning fee, and we ask for about 24 hours’ notice to get it scheduled. We can usually accommodate your preferred timing. We want you to feel comfortable and at home during your stay, so please don’t hesitate to message us if you need anything! Other things to note The Wilson House Restaurant and Inn is located in the heart of the charming Village of Wilson, surrounded by beautiful scenery, local shops, and a variety of fun activities. We’re just a short drive from iconic destinations like Niagara Falls and the vibrant city of Buffalo. Our restaurant regularly features live entertainment, which brings great energy and nightlife to the village. Please note that this may create some noise for our inn guests during event hours.
