The stream is just across the street, so bring your fishing gear. Completely remodeled historic cottage features 2 comfortable beds and 1 bath, plus a wood stove to cozy up to on chilly winter Rocky Mountain evenings. The back deck is perfect for stargazing, or light up your nights at the fire pit. The space Welcome to the AlpenGlow Cottage! This newly remodeled 1881 miner's cottage was originally built by Alfred Eyre and combines modern amenities with original historic vernacular architectural details that Silver Plume is famous for. The Georgetown-Silver Plume National Historic Landmark District is at the heart of the Colorado silver mining boom (and BUST) and the AlpenGlow Cottage is a testament to the grit and endurance early mining pioneers exhibited to simply survive the Colorado Rockies before the modern inventions we've come to rely on today. The cottage features two bedrooms and one bathroom plus a kitchen with all the necessities you need to create an amazing dinner! A wood stove (coming soon) for winter adds to the charm of this cottage and heats the whole home-although radiant heat units are present in each room so it's toasty warm no matter your preference. Georgetown, our sister town, is a short drive 'down the hill' and features additional restaurants, saloons, museums, gas stations, & services like grocery stores & retail shopping. Guest access You'll have access to the entire cottage. Other things to note You'll be staying in a lovely historic property called the AlpenGlow Cottage, just steps from the stream & located in the heart of the Rocky Mountains. The Cottage is just 10 miles to Loveland Ski Area and within a 40 minute drive to 8 other world-class ski resorts. During winter, spring, and fall, it is possible we will have snow on the roads, so be sure you're equipped with an AWD or 4WD vehicle to get around. There is public transportation but the schedule is somewhat limited-reach out if you plan to use the Roundabout Bus, and I can share the schedule with you. Services such as gas, groceries, and much more is a short 2 mile drive down to Georgetown, our sister town. Silver Plume is a wonderful , eclectic town and features a sandwich shop (Silver Plume Provisions), a coffee shop (Plume Coffee Shop), and a bar (Bread Bar) with an awesome deck and live music. Please be aware the speed limit throughout town is 25 OR LESS. Lots of kids and dogs so please drive slowly.
