The space The Knotty Nook pays homage to simpler times with its knotty-pine accents and freshly updated décor. Each of the three bedrooms features a plush queen bed, and a pull-out couch in the living room offers extra sleeping space for friends or family. When you’re not paddling or lounging on the sandy beach, settle in for a show on the Roku TV—just log in to your favorite streaming service. A window AC unit takes the edge off summer humidity, and breezy lake air keeps the rest of the house comfortable. You’ll be so caught up in campfire stories, board games, and starry nights that you’ll hardly notice there’s no dishwasher or washer/dryer—just classic Up North simplicity at its best. In the fall, guests can soak in the stunning autumn colors along the River Road Scenic Byway, a breathtaking drive lined with overlooks and trails. Don’t miss a stop at Lumberman’s Monument to take in panoramic views of the Au Sable River, or visit Iargo Springs, where wooden stairways lead down to crystal-clear waters surrounded by vibrant foliage. When winter rolls in, the area transforms into a snowy playground with easy access to snowmobile trails, including the convenient trailhead on Liberty Road just minutes away. Pets are always welcome guests. We do charge a $100 fee for pets. Guest access Just a short 6-minute drive to downtown Hale, where you’ll find everything you need for your stay. Some of our outdoor supplies, like kayaks, paddle boards, and fishing poles, are stored in the shed furthest from the house for your convenience. Other things to note As noted earlier, this property does not have central AC, a dishwasher, or a washer and dryer.
