Bear Creek Cabin

The Bear Creek Cabin sets on the edge of a hill overlooking the valley with seasonal Bear Creek below. There was an old hunting cabin at this location replaced by the current cabin. An old wagon road used to cross the property and we have found evidence of the long ago travelers. Just a peaceful location with no neighbors in sight. The living and kitchen area are surrounded by glass doors. In the area are Palo Pinto Mtns State Park soon to open and the Historic ghost town of Thurber. The space ****The roads heading to Bear Creek Cabin are all dirt/gravel and can get rough, washed out after a heavy rain, so we advise no sedans/low clearance vehicles. We have equipment on hand and keep the roads on the property maintained but they can be rough after rains.**** Pictures of the roads are included in the listing photos. Guest access Guests are welcome to walk/hike the roads around the cabin, but please do not get off the roads as there are snakes, cactus, wild animals, cattle, etc. Do not drive on any road other than the access road to the cabin as you can get stuck. Do not cross closed gates, climb over fences, approach animals, or cross running water. The creeks flash flood during heavy rains. Please contact us for any further information. Other things to note ****There is no ground or public water. We have potable water hauled in to our 1,200 gallon storage tank. As a caution because the water is hauled in we do recommend drinking bottled water and we leave you plenty to get started. **Be mindful of your water usage during your stay as we have to haul it in. We have a monitor on the tank and add water during the stay but if you suddenly run out notify us immediately.*** Because of this all long term stays need to be discussed prior to approval.
