Bear Necessities

Our cabin “Bear Necessities” is a great place to lose track of time & simply enjoy the setting. Stay inside & enjoy the hunting style cabin & it’s bear theme decorations, sit on the covered front porch or rear deck, take a dip in the pool, or soak up sun on the patio next to the pool. A perfect place to stay for work, vacation, or just to get away. Bear Necessitates is on 1 acre surrounded by a wooded setting allowing plenty of room to enjoy inside and out! Come check out Bear Necessities! The space Turn off paved Winn road onto the nearly 1/4 mile dirt driveway that leads you to our cabin Bear Necessities. Sitting on 1 acre the cabin is 3 bedroom (master, bedroom, loft) . 4 beds (King bed in master bedroom, Queen bed in bedroom, and 2 twin beds in upstairs loft). 3 full bathrooms (one in the master, one beside the bedroom, and one in the loft). Decorated with Gatlinburg and the Tennessee mountains in mind our Bear theme features two Bear mounts, Ralph & Bamma Bear. The cabin has Starlink high speed internet and 3 smart tv’s (living room, master bedroom, & bedroom). The cell phone service at the cabin is poor. We utilize the WiFi calling and texting on our phones. While the internet is extremely reliable, we cannot control if there ever would be an outage. Technical difficulties at Starlink, power outage, and weather could potentially cause an outage. The back deck has a propane flat grill available for use. Please note the pool area is enclosed with chain link fence and deck railings. Access to the pool area is by the two chain link gates and the rear door of the house located in the kitchen. Please be aware the kitchen door locks and chain link gates restrict but do not prevent children from unwanted access to the pool. Keeping the gates closed and latched and keeping the rear door locked helps prevent unwanted access but are not guaranteed to secure the pool. Guests are responsible for watching over and maintaining a safe pool area. Our cabin Bear Necessities has a strict NO MAIL rule. Guests are not permitted to receive ANY mail to the property address. Violation will result in guests removal. Guest access Our cabin Bear Necessities is located at the end of a 1/4 mile dirt driveway tucked into a wooded setting. The driveway has multiple inclines and declines in elevation. After/during rain the driveway may have rain ruts/washes and or become slippery. We recommend four wheel drive/4x4/AWD. We have never had anyone get stuck or not be able to navigate the driveway but want every guest to be prepared knowing what to expect. Please see the pictures of the driveway in the listing. The pictures are taken from the cabin to the road. The pictures show the condition of the driveway (ruts/washes) after a heavy rain fall. If you are not familiar with dirt roads or driveways. If you have any concerns with the dirt driveway, ruts/washes, slippery conditions, and elevation changes. Or are not confident you will be comfortably navigating the driveway, PLEASE contact us prior to scheduling your stay. The driveway meets the road on an incline. Please use caution pulling into the property & when exiting the property onto Winn Rd. At the end of the driveway is our 1 acre property and our cabin Bear Necessities. The 1 acre is outlined by green posts with white painted tips. Please stay within the post staying on the 1 acre. DO NOT TRESPASS ONTO THE SURROUNDING PROPERTIES! The rear of the property has fewer posts but also has pink flags marking the property boundary. If there is any question about property line, PLEASE stay within the property boundaries that are not questionable. The driveway accessing the property is only to be used to enter and exit the property. The property along both sides of the driveway are not to be accessed. There is a storage shed on the property that is locked. We ask that you do not enter or attempt to enter the shed. There are two closets in the master bedroom. The closet towards the front of the property is locked and not to be accessed. The double door pantry closet in the kitchen is locked. It is off limits and not to be accessed. Other things to note The town of Jackson is just 15 minutes away offers restaurants and shopping. There is a 9 hole golf course, city splash pad, playgrounds, a 24/7 gym, tennis courts, and the country's 3rd largest 100x400 spring fed pool. Pool operates May- August. Also Old St Stephens Park is worth checking out. It has walking trails, Indian baths, and a limestone lake where when the weather permits, there is seasonal, swimming, kayaking and beach volleyball. Park access and activities vary in price. Prior arrangements are usually required. We are close to the Tombigbee River and the Alabama River. There is no charge to use the public boat launches on either place. You can bring your own boat and enjoy time on our beautiful waterways. Alabama offers several beaches worth checking out. Dauphin island has a lot to offer including multiple beaches and a ferry ride (cost varies per vehicle) across Mobile Bay to Fort Morgan. That side of the bay has Gulf Shores, Orange Beach, and leads to several Florida beaches. Towns worth mentioning down that way: Orange Beach Gulf Shores Fairhope Daphne Foley Mobile Bayou La Batre Dauphin Island For new guests to Airbnb or guest with no reviews: Stays must be less than 29 days. If guest would like to visit longer, we ask that guests make multiple reservations. For established guests with multiple reviews: Requested stays longer than 28 days will be reviewed on a per request basis. If making back to back / multiple reservations, we ask that guests check out completely at 11:00am on their scheduled check out date. Even if scheduled to return the same day at 3:00. Our cabin has a strict NO MAIL POLICY. Guests are never allowed to receive mail at the property address for any reason. Violations to the no mail policy will result in the immediate removal of guests. Guests asked to leave for violating any of the rules or policies in place, forfeit their right to any refund & agree to leave the property when asked.
