Nestled in the heart of Canaan Valley steps from Salamander Run at Timberline Mountain Ski Resort, our home offers the perfect blend of luxury and adventure. The space Our spacious and beautifully appointed mountain home is located just steps away from the ski lifts of Timberline Mountain. You'll have direct access to Salamander Run and some of the best skiing and snowboarding in the region. In the warmer months, explore the numerous hiking and biking trails right outside your door. This getaway features: 1) Five (5) bedrooms - one primary bedroom on it's own exclusive top floor with private balcony, four bedrooms on the second floor. Comfortably sleeps 14. All bedrooms have a balcony or deck access. Two roll away beds are in the game room, as well as two sets of twin bunk beds in one bedroom. Two bedrooms are connected with a pocket door- perfect for families with small children. Pack and play provided if needed. 2) Four-1/2 (4.5) bathrooms - one primary bathroom and three full bathrooms conveniently located throughout the home. The half-bath is located just off the great hall floor. 3) Gourmet Kitchen - fully equipped with high-end stainless steel appliances, perfect for preparing hearty meals after a day on the slopes or the trails. 4) The Great Hall - a great room floor with 20-foot vaulted ceilings, floor to celling windows and a majestic stone fireplace. 5) Expansive Outdoor Spaces - spacious wrap-around decks allow for tree top and mountain views all year round. 4stories. 3 stories of decks. A new gas grill and fire table are available for guest's enjoyment. 6) Game Room - first floor game room with arcade games and air hockey table creates the perfect gathering space for kids and teens alike. Guest access Guests have access to the entire home including all amenities with the exception of a single owner's closet. Other things to note This mountain getaway is located close to many area attractions. 1) Town of Davis - a small municipality located in the mountainous heart of Tucker County. At 3,520 feet elevation, Davis is the highest incorporated town in the state. It is located along the Blackwater River just outside the northern terminus of Canaan Valley, the highest large valley east of the Mississippi River. Davis is conveniently accessible from the eastern portion of Highway 48 (the section to connect the western portion from Montrose to Davis via Parsons is currently under construction). The highway provides quick and easy access to and from many metropolitan areas – Davis is just 2.5 hours from Washington, D.C., 3 hours from Pittsburgh, PA, and 3.5 hours from Baltimore, MD. It is within driving distance of many other major cities, and within a day’s drive of two-thirds of the U.S. population. Several friendly restaurants dot the town's main street offering delicious meals you're sure to love! 2) Town of Thomas - just a couple miles from Davis, Thomas is a small municipality and former coal town located high in the Allegheny mountains, nestled within the Monongahela Forest, Thomas is a quintessential small town in the heart of West Virginia. It's eclectic combination of shops, restaurants and performing arts venues make it the perfect nighttime getaway for all visitors. 3) Canaan Valley State Park - a ski and golf resort just minutes from the home, the resort boasts 160 rooms, 23 cabins and 59 campsites. In addition to the 4-star championship golf course designed by Geoffrey Cornish, warm weather activities include 18 miles of marked trail hiking, scenic chairlift rides, sporting clays and archery. In addition to skiing, winter activities include ice skating, snow tubing, cross-country skiing and snowshoeing. 4) Blackwater Falls State Park - witness panoramic views of the half-mile wide canyon with multiple observation points along the trail that leads to the impressive falls, a 57-foot cascade tinted by the tannic acid of fallen hemlock and red spruce needles. The falls, along with a few of the park’s other features like Elakala Falls, Lindy Point and Pendleton Point Overlook, are some of the state’s most photographed spots. Visitors can enjoy the scenic views year-round by taking the steps to the falls or using viewing platforms. The park has 20 miles of hiking trails, the longest sledding magic carpet on the East Coast in the winter, a comfortable lodge and more. 5) Numerous Other Attractions - all within a short drive, take advantage of being in the epicenter of nature by visiting Dolly Sods Wilderness Area, Seneca Caverns, Seneca Rocks, Smoke Hole Caverns, Cass Scenic Railroad and the National Radio Astronomy Observatory.
