Reel Therapy Retreat is your lake-life escape on Pokegama Lake in Chetek, Wisconsin’s Chain of Lakes. This spacious, family-friendly home welcomes anglers, couples, crafters, hunters, and reunion crews. Wake to loon calls, launch a pontoon from the dock, kayak with the kids, or wander into town for tiki bars, cafes, and fun shops. Evenings bring glowing sunsets, crackling fires, fast Wi-Fi, modern comforts, and cozy fireplaces. Reel in peace, play, and five-star memories—then plan your return. The space Step through the front door and into a bright, welcoming foyer—your landing spot for coats, shoes, and that first sigh of vacation relief. Immediately to the right, a full-service laundry room awaits, stocked with detergent, dryer sheets, and laundry baskets so you can pack light and stay fresh. Straight ahead, the living room invites you to sink into dual reclining sofas, set your drink on the coffee table, and cue up your favorite show on a beautiful curved smart-TV or pop in one of the many DVDs. A gas fireplace flickers beneath, and the remote on the table lets you master the TV or ceiling fan without ever leaving your seat. Flow into the open kitchen–dining area, where everything you need for culinary magic is at your fingertips: electric stove and oven, microwave, dishwasher, refrigerator, air fryer, toaster, mixer, blender, full knife set, drip, Keurig and Nespresso coffee makers (complete with milk frother), plus coffee and creamer ready to go. Cupboards are loaded with a kitchen aid mixer, roaster, serving platters, plates, glasses (wine glasses, too), pots, pans, cutting boards, and storage containers—perfect for a family feast. Six guests can gather at the dining table with seating for four at the island stools. Slide open the back door to a spacious deck overlooking the yard and lake. Fire up the fully equipped Blackstone grill, settle around the umbrella-topped table for six, or claim one of four extra chairs for sunset chats. Back inside, the hallway leads to a full bathroom stocked with plush towels, toiletries, and essentials from hair dryer to shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. • Guest Bedroom (left at hall’s end): queen bed, dual nightstands with easy-access outlets, bedside lamps, ceiling fan, luggage rack, closet, and smart-TV. • Primary Suite (right at hall’s end): king bed, deck access, dual nightstands with easy-access outlets, ceiling fan, dresser, huge closet, luggage rack, smart-TV, and an en-suite bath with jetted tub plus full towel and toiletry set. This is also where all the infant items are located (pack and play with sheets, high chair, kids toilet seat top). Head downstairs to a roomy family room designed for fun. Break out the board games or challenge everyone at the foosball table. A second kitchen—refrigerator, sink, microwave, electric stove/oven, knives, cutting boards, and utensils—makes feast prep or fish-filleting a breeze. The family room’s oversized reclining sectional, coffee table, end tables, and large TV over a second gas fireplace turn movie night into an event. Down the lower hallway, you’ll find: • Storage closet with a vacuum. • Another fully outfitted full bathroom. • Family Guestroom (first left, lake-view): two twin bunk beds plus a queen bed, nightstands with built-in outlets, lamps, ceiling fan, luggage rack, closet, and smart-TV. • Final Bedroom (hall’s end, left, lake-view): king bed, dual nightstands with built-in outlets, lamps, ceiling fan, small chair, luggage rack, closet, and smart-TV. A two-stall garage offers generous storage, a spare gas tank, camping chairs, and an electric air pump for lake toys. The wide front drive parks multiple vehicles, while the roomy front lawn invites yard games. There is also a BOB stroller, lawn games, and kids water table for you to use. An additional deck in the backyard overlooks the lake with a second table with four chairs and joins six Adirondack chairs circling the firepit—your first bundle of wood is on us, and more is easy to find in town. Swing in the hammock or grab yard games and lake gear (inflatable kayak, tube, rope, floats, eight life jackets) from the storage bins. Down at the shoreline, two kayaks with paddles and an “h”-shaped dock ready for up to three boats await your adventures. "Bubbles" the paddleboat also loves to be taken for a spin on the lake. Need power? An extension cord and outlet sit at the top of the stairs. The house is also equipped with high-speed internet. There are many local attractions around Chetek to check out as well. We offer plenty of recommendations of our favorite places in the house book. We’ve tried to think of everything so you can think about nothing but relaxing—and reeling in unforgettable memories! Guest access Make yourself completely at home—every unlocked space is yours to enjoy. The only off-limits areas are at the lower level, including the owner’s storage closet with the coded-lock door and the utility room with the two coded-lock doors down the hallway. Other things to note 10 PM – 8 AM quiet hours to keep the lakeside peaceful for neighbors and wildlife. We provide one starter bag of charcoal and lighter fluid for the charcoal grill. We provide propane for the Blackstone flattop grill. We start you off with one bundle of firewood. We have two kayaks for you to enjoy, a paddleboat, floaties for leisure hangouts on the water, and 8 standard orange lifejackets. We have an outdoor fish cleaning station as well. There is an additional 12x12 deck overlooking the lake for your viewing pleasure.
