Carnation Central Garden Guest House
Carnation Central Garden Guest House
Description
This is a peaceful, laid-back place to unwind—whether you're relaxing by the river, enjoying live music in town, or soaking up the garden vibes. Carnation is a lovely small town with walkable access to nature, local shops, and trails. Our guest unit offers a quiet retreat with a touch of charm and a garden full of seasonal treats. We hope you enjoy your stay as much as we enjoy living here. The space Welcome to our little corner of Carnation! This cozy backyard mother-in-law unit is a great home base for exploring the Snoqualmie Valley. We’re just two blocks from downtown, where you’ll find local coffee shops, restaurants, music venues, and more. The Snoqualmie and Tolt rivers, nature trails, and biking paths are all within walking distance. If you’re bringing bikes, the Snoqualmie Valley Trail is nearby and connects to other small towns like Duvall and Fall City. The local shuttle also makes it easy to get around the valley. Please note that while the backyard is primarily yours to enjoy, there may be times—especially after 4 PM on weekdays or during weekends during the school year—when you might see us or our kids passing through or spending time outside. We’re usually at work during the day, so you’ll have plenty of quiet time to yourself. We are often gone on trips throughout the summer, but not always. Our home is older and has its quirks—like settling and uneven floors—but it’s full of character and always a work in progress. We also share our space with a few friendly animals: two cats and some ducks who roam the yard. The garden is a labor of love, filled with flowers, herbs, and seasonal edibles. Feel free to pick berries or greens and make yourself a fresh summer salad. There’s also a disc golf course nearby, and a tennis court, that Jon really enjoys—perfect if you're looking for fun, low-key outdoor activities. Guest access Please note that while the backyard is primarily yours to enjoy, there may be times—especially after 4 PM on weekdays or during weekends during the school year—when you might see us or our kids passing through or spending time outside. We’re usually at work during the day, so you’ll have plenty of quiet time to yourself. We are often gone on trips throughout the summer, but not always. Please park on the side parking which will be easy to find and access. You will need to walk around to the back of the main house to access the guest house. Our check-in time is a little later than most hotels and B&Bs (5:00 PM) due to our work schedule and the time needed to thoroughly clean and prepare the space. If you need an earlier check-in, please reach out. We're often able to accommodate special requests. Other things to note Please note that we have a few animals on the property, including ducks and two friendly cats who may be seen in the yard. They’re part of the charm here, but we ask that guests be mindful and not feed or chase them. We also have caretakers who help look after the animals while we’re away. They may enter and exit through the front door of the main house (not the guest unit), so you might see them coming and going occasionally. Please note: there are small steps on the deck, going into the unit, and in the bathroom. Our home is in close proximity to our neighbors, and we really value our good relationship with them. We kindly ask that guests keep noise to a minimum, especially in the evenings, and treat the space and community with respect. If you are looking for a night that is not accessible on our calendar, don't hesitate to reach out and we will see what we can do to make our guest house available to you, especially for long term stays.
