Hillside Haven

Relaxation is calling at Hillside Haven. From the moment you walk in the door you will feel rejuvenated in this quaint guest house. Favorite features include a comfortable king size bed, smart TV with Netflix guest access, luxuriously soft towels, fully stocked coffee bar, and a beautiful view. You’ll feel as if you’re away from it all, but are only a ten-minute drive from downtown Henderson and Freed-Hardeman University. Ideal for one couple or a small family (Max of two adults and two kids). The space 1.9 miles to Cogan’s Farm 3.8 miles to Freed-Hardeman University 12 miles to Chickasaw State Park 21 miles to Jackson  36 miles to Natchez Trace State Park Hillside Haven is a freestanding guest suite that is the perfect mix of rustic charm and luxury. The 400-square-foot studio is located ten minutes outside of Henderson, TN. The unit has its own parking and private entrance, but please note that it is beside our primary residence. Lounging area: One step up is required to enter Hillside Haven. Once inside, you’ll see a comfortable reclining couch to your left where you can relax and enjoy the view of a quiet country field. In the living area there is also a small sofa that converts to a chaise and also a pull out bed. If you would like the sofa made up into a bed, please request this upon booking. When pulled out, the bed is slightly less wide than a full size bed, but bigger than a twin size bed. It would be best suited for 1-2 children (or perhaps one adult who is on the shorter side). We also have a pack and play available (upon request). There is fiber WiFi throughout the unit, as well as a 60” smart TV on the wall that easily pulls out and swivels to face the couch or the bed. The TV does not have live channels, but it is logged into the owners’ Netflix account. Feel free to watch under the “Guest” account. You may also sign into any personal streaming accounts that you wish to. Sleeping area: The bedroom space includes a king size memory foam mattress. There are two nightstands with enough storage space in the drawers for several changes of clothes. The bedside lights are touch activated and include USB charging ports. Room darkening curtains are included over all windows. Kitchenette: There is a small kitchenette in the unit that includes a fully stocked coffee bar. This kitchenette would accommodate the creation of simple meals, but it is NOT a fully stocked kitchen. It does include: a Keurig, microwave, mini fridge, toaster, electric skillet, slow cooker, and several other basic kitchen items. The water from the faucet at Hillside Haven is well water. If you prefer bottled water, the fridge always has several stocked for you. Bathroom: The light and airy full bathroom has a 48”x72” shower complete with shampoo, conditioner, and body wash dispenser. Enjoy super soft and fluffy “bath sheets” (larger than normal bath towels) for drying off and please use the black embroidered washcloths for removing makeup. There is an exhaust fan (switch located above the bathroom window) for everyday use and a wall heater for those colder months. You’ll also find a blow dryer and first aid kit in the vanity. Please note how the bathroom wall does not rise all the way to the peak of the ceiling. This feature allows for airflow throughout the whole studio. Due to the intimate nature of the suite, it is best for a family. Security: There is a lockbox on the door that contains the key to the unit’s deadbolt. The code to the lockbox is changed between each stay. Guest access Booking Hillside Haven gives you access to the entire unit. There is a dirt driveway with plenty of room for you to park multiple cars. Please do not park on the asphalt (owner’s driveway) unless prior permission is granted. Other things to note Hillside Haven is a converted shed. While we have renovated it with your ultimate comfort in mind, the floors are not entirely even, so please be sure to watch your step.
