Description
Take it easy at this unique and tranquil 7 acre getaway. Enjoy catch-and-release fishing in the stocked private 1 acre pond. take a walk through the meadow to the woods, build a creekside campfire, paddle the canoe, pick seasonal berries, bird-watch or do nothing at all. The space One-room cabin on 7 acres with private pond near Brookville Lake. No bathroom/shower facilities (yet), but there is an outhouse and HOT (be careful) and cold water inside the cabin. Pond is stocked with largemouth bass, black and white crappie, bluegill and catfish which you're welcome to catch-and-release. Swimming is also permitted and a canoe for use on the pond as well. There's mown trails through a meadow leading to a small woods with a creek running through it. Truly a wildlife paradise and a bird-watcher's dream! When you do find yourself inside, you'll enjoy amenities including a/c and heat, mini-fridge, microwave, hotplate, tv, wifi, a library of books, boardgames and even a tuned guitar. There are two twin frames with 4 mattresses, so your sleeping arrangements are flexible. Twin and king sheets are available if you decide to slide two beds together and the loft can also accommodate two twin mattresses. Guest access Full access to entire property with the exception of the barn which remains locked and monitored. Other things to note Please excuse some of the areas of the yard under repair. I've recently added electricity and water services to the cabin, both of which required trenching from the road back to the cabin. I've backfilled the trenches and sown grass, so soon it should be back to normal. My next priority is a bathroom/shower facility. Also, please note there is no hunting allowed on the property. I have a few deer stands in the woods for personal use only and appreciate your understanding. That said, the cabin is only about a mile from the closest hunter sign-in box for state property.
