Waterfront Cottage, Hiking, Fall colours, Sunsets!

A modern, all-season, waterfront home on Lake Huron - satellite wi-fi is excellent for remote working! A designated UNESCO World Biosphere Reserve, the Bruce Peninsula is perfect for fishing, hiking, birding, orchid spotting, star gazing. Located on a child-friendly sandy beach, with swimming, kayaking, cycling, spectacular sunsets! 15 minutes from Georgian Bay and world renowned Bruce Trail hiking. Close to Bruce Peninsula National Park, diving, cliff climbing and ferry to Manitoulin Island. The space AnamCara is located in the centre of the horseshoe-shaped Hardwick Cove and is one of the few properties with a true sandy beach. With windows and French doors all around, the property offers spectacular views of Lake Huron, nearby islands and a historic lighthouse. There are pine walls, hardwood and local flagstone floors throughout with underfloor heating for wintertime. This modern cottage will sleep 8 in 3 bedrooms plus a private den with a pullout double bed. On the main floor the living room has a cathedral ceiling with Douglas fir beams, a large ceiling fan and an enclosed woodstove which easily heats the cottage on cooler days. Off the living room is a private den with a pull out couch, French doors to the patio behind, forest views and a gas fireplace for cooler evenings. There is a 42 inch TV connected to an Apple TV with all the usual streaming channels. We also have an excellent music system and fast internet via Starlink. If there is a power outage it may take about 15 minutes for the Starlink modem reboot. There is a monitor if you wish to work from the cottage. Also on the main floor is a fully equipped, modern kitchen with a large island, two sinks and a wine fridge. There is a separate laundry room with washer and dryer and an outdoor gas BBQ. Upstairs, the master bedroom has a panoramic view of the lake, a ceiling fan and a gas fireplace for cooler evenings. Two smaller bedrooms offer either twin beds or a queen. The cottage has two large bathrooms, one with an oversized tub and separate shower (upstairs) and one with a large steam shower to warm up after winter outings (downstairs). There are 2 outdoor patios with Muskoka chairs - one at the side of the cottage with views of the lake and one behind the cottage among the trees and wildflowers, perfect for a windy day. We have elected to let the garden grow wild in front of the cottage to attract birds, butterflies and bees and have been rewarded with growing populations of Monarch butterflies and hummingbirds in the summer. We have also created a natural patio on the beach in front of the cottage, close to the water, with Muskoka chairs, an umbrella and a fire-pit (when allowed by local fire regulations). This is our favourite spot to sit for sunset views! There is a rustic outdoor shower behind the cottage surrounded by cedars. There is a private driveway with room for 4 cars. Guest access Guests can access all of the cottage property, except for the large shed and sauna in the garden and 1 closet in the master bedroom. All seasons are beautiful on the Bruce Peninsula - Spring has trilliums, wild leeks and nesting birds; Summer has warm weather, swimming, boating and campfires; Fall is beautifully colourful and busy with tours of art studios and fabulous hiking; Winter is equally beautiful with X country skiing, snowshoeing, ice fishing and totally amazing stars! There are spectacular sunsets all year around. For winter renters, the cottage is very cosy with several sources of heat and would be perfect for people wishing to work from home in a spectacular winter setting. The road and driveway are ploughed daily and virtually always accessible.
