The Little Yellow Caboose @Hideaway on the Hocking

The Little Yellow Caboose is our free spirit, a ray of sunshine! This 2024 artifact, the only wooden train, is inspired by her bright coat and the sunflowers that fill the fields outside her windows in their summer season. The train's boho vibe is felt throughout this cozy space ... both inside and out. TO BE inside, enjoying the colorful, eclectic space ... or TO BE outside, admiring the fields from your own rope swing... that is the question! Good things really DO come in small packages! The space The Little Yellow Caboose, with its wood frame, is the coziest of all the trains on our line, but don't let her small frame fool you. You will be surprised with all you find tucked inside this space for two adults and a toddler. A window at the granite bar top in the kitchenette frames the green fields below, that for a few precious summer weeks, are filled with sunflowers. A wall-mounted TV sits atop a small ledge that folds out for a child’s private dining table. The custom sofa, with toddler mattress, is a comfy space for littlest train enthusiasts to retire for the night. A built-in queen bed with storage below and window and TV above complete the train's sleeping quarters. The biggest surprise INSIDE this tiny-home space? The cupola of this vintage train has been converted into a bathroom. With high ceilings and windows, it’s hard to believe you are in a little yellow caboose. The biggest surprise (literally) OUTSIDE this tiny-home space? The full length covered porch with over 300 square feet provides even more outdoor living space with three rocking chairs… one of them child-sized … and a dining table. Off the porch, you’ll find a Weber grill, a fire-pit area with Adirondack seating and one final surprise! Your own two-person wooden rope swing hanging from a 100-year-old maple tree. All aboard! Guest access The Little Yellow Caboose is located within the gated Hideaway on the Hocking resort property. You will receive an access code for the resort gate and your rental property 7 days before your stay. Your code is only active for the duration of your stay. It will activate at your check-in time (4:00pm) and it will deactivate at your check-out time (11:00am). This code will be used to enter the front gate of the property and your personal rental. To access, you will hit the YALE button on the keypad, type in your access code and then hit the Checkmark button. Wait until you hear door unlock completely before trying to open. Other things to note Located within the Hideaway on the Hocking resort, you can spend your days exploring miles of private trails, kayaking the Hocking River, picking fresh corn and tomatoes from our flower-lined garden or escaping to one of our panoramic Hideouts. After a full day, you can enjoy dinner on your spacious porch overlooking the fields below and river beyond before you cap off the evening around your private firepit under a wide-open starry sky. Traveling with family or friends? Gather together at The Quarry, our community pavilion with 16' double-sided fireplace, comfy leather seating and dining tables large enough for a group meal.
