The Depot @ Hideaway on the Hocking

Thoughtfully restored with respect for its history, The Depot offers a glimpse of the hustle and bustle that filled this train station. Original floors and character draw you into the space, but the updated design and cozy layout invite you to stay. A full-length covered deck off the back offers comfy rockers and lounger for relaxing and an industrial table for outdoor dining, all looking out to the water tower beyond, while a firepit and hot tub draw you further out to your own greenspace. The space Once you pass through the double red doors, and step onto the original 134-year-old floors, you'll know you've arrived at your destination. This 2-bedroom, 2-bath restored train depot is full of history and character. The baggage area with exposed wooden ceiling has been converted into living space with century-old luggage scattered about. A few walls have gone up to create a full bathroom with vintage vibe, yet modern amenities and a bedroom with direct access to the large, covered porch. As you pass from the living space to the kitchen and dining area, you are taken deeper back in time with original walls, floors and ceiling in the former office space. The ticket cubby, now dining space, and mail cubby, now dish storage, have all been repurposed ... along with a few surprises. A rustic ticket window passes through to the second bedroom for a chance to truly have your coffee (and breakfast) served in bed! A full private bath finishes off this former waiting area. The large, covered porch off the back has space for relaxing and dining, while a hot tub, Weber grill and central fire pit dot your greenspace beyond. This cabin comfortably sleeps 6 between the two bedrooms, each with a queen bed, and the queen sleeper sofa in the living space. Guest access The Depot is located within the gated Hideaway on the Hocking resort property. You will receive an access code for the resort gate and your rental property 7 days before your stay. Your code is only active for the duration of your stay. It will activate at your check-in time (4:00pm) and it will deactivate at your check-out time (11:00am). This code will be used to enter the front gate of the property and your personal rental. To access, you will hit the YALE button on the keypad, type in your access code and then hit the checkmark button. Wait until you hear door unlock completely before trying to open. Other things to note Located within the Hideaway on the Hocking resort, you can spend your days exploring miles of private trails, kayaking the Hocking River, picking fresh corn and tomatoes from our flower-lined garden or escaping to one of our panoramic Hideouts. Once you've enjoyed the sunset over the river, you can cap off the evening with a fire under the stars or a dip in your private hot tub. Traveling with family or friends? Gather together at The Quarry, our community pavilion with 16' double-sided fireplace, comfy leather seating and dining tables large enough for a group meal.
