The space This old barn, with it’s high Oregon ceilings, was built in 1880. It has been fully restored and renovated, and has a fully equipped kitchen. Immerse yourself in this stylish contemporary interpretation of the early South African settler trader’s lifestyle. The cottage is filled with beautiful antiques, and fascinating farm memorabilia. Guest access Guests are welcome to explore our property, but also have access to wonderful walks on surrounding farms. There is plenty of open space to stretch the legs, and brilliant clear skies for night owls. We are fortunate enough to have the Touwsberg Private Nature Reserve less than 500m from our gate, allowing our guests access to unspoiled nature and wild life - giraffe/kudu/eland/zebra/ etc. The reserve is easily reached by either car, bicycle or on foot. For those who need to soak their muscles after a long walk, we have a hot springs resort less than 12km from our farm. Other things to note All bedding and towels are provided. There is plenty out-door shaded area, braai facilities, and a free bag of wood is provided every night. Extra wood is available for purchase. Tea, coffee and sugar are provided as well as some Olive oil and Chili Oil for cooking. Wifi is via a satellite solution and is more than sufficient for a working getaway. Eskom power with solar backup to run the lights, a plug point and wifi during loadshedding.
