Home in Windham

This is a 2 bedroom 1 bath house located just 7 minutes from the Windham ski mountain. The house is surrounded by scenic land with few neighbors to be seen. Skiing, fall foliage, swimming holes, hiking, golf, antiquing, horseback riding, local farms are just a few things to name that this area has to offer. The house itself is a true retreat, you will leave totally re-charged - sweet air, bird chirping, star gazing, grilling, bong fire or simply enjoy a few days of not seeing another soul :) The space The house is surrounded by 3 acres of private land. Both bedrooms are on the second floor, each offering a queen size bed with memory foam mattress and down bedding. One of the bedrooms has a baby nook with a crib (baby gate, a high chair, baby bath and some other child-friendly items are available as well). The main level houses a large kitchen, a bathroom (tub/shower combo), dining area and a spacious living room with a wood-burning stove. There is a huge deck right off the living room and a very large yard with a fire pit, swing set and a volleyball net. We are all about comfort and make sure you have everything you need during your stay. We don't do "good enough", we make sure the house feels like home so let us know if you're looking for something specific, if we don't have it, we'll get it for you! (within reason :)) Guest access Please enjoy the entire house, we made sure it has everything to make your stay as comfortable as possible! We have 3 acres of land to explore so your pup will have plenty of space to run around, the kids lots to discover and you will have the privacy to unwind and recharge. The house is situated on a private road with just two other neighboring houses sharing it. Other things to note Here are some other details to note about our property - Pet fee is $65. One dog per booking. Pet fee applies to service animals as well. We keep it low so be kind to our hard working cleaning lady and pick up after your furry friend. Cats are not allowed, we absolutely love them but too many of our guests have cat allergies. A 4 guest limit is based on 2 sleeping arrangements. Setting up the couch or other areas for sleeping is not allowed. Additional visitors and guests not part of the booking are not permitted. Please keep in mind that both bedrooms are on the second floor. Stairs leading up to the bedrooms are fairly steep (railings on both sides as well as motion sensored lighting for extra safety). Guests not following guidelines and house rules or sneaking in extra people/pets will be asked to vacate the property immediately without a refund. We are serious about this one but would hate to get to this point so please be honest and respectful. Electric car charging is an additional $15/night fee. There is also a charging station in town for your convenience. Tap water is clean and safe to drink - we have a UV filtration system as well as a Brita pitcher. For those staying 5 nights or longer will need to discard of their own garbage. The waste station is right in town, about 10 minutes away (and is on the way back to the throughway). For shorter stays, our cleaning lady takes care of it. Inflatable pools are not permitted. Because of our water system we have to be conservative with our water usage. Late fall/winter - a 4WD with good winter tires is a must. It gets pretty cold and snowy up here and our driveway is very steep. Cell service is a bit sporadic but we have a landline in case you need to make (or receive) a call. WiFi (2G and 5G) is very strong and FaceTime Calling is an option as well. You can also contact your carrier prior to arriving to activate WiFi calling. Washer/dryer is not available for guest use. Sorry, we know laundromats suck but these things are our bread and butter. All guests will be held responsible for damaged items or if additional cleaning services might be required post your stay but we don't like doing this so please take care of our little piece of heaven and let us know if anything breaks so we can fix/replace it as soon as possible. Cancellations due to COVID will require proof of a positive test showing the date. If we can rebook the dates, we will happily refund you the amount of the new booking. This applies to most cancellations. We understand things happen and will always try to rebook your dates to be able to refund you at least some of the charges. Please remember this isn't a hotel and we are not a giant operation; this is our home that we've worked so hard on so kindly take care of it as you would your own.
