Guests can also bring their own canoes, kayaks or paddle boards to use on the lake. No motorized boats. • We maintain a natural shoreline as part of our land is environmentally protected. There is no swimming off the dock or shoreline. • Guests have access to canoes & a paddle board (seasonal May - October, weather permitting) to go to the middle of the private lake & enjoy swimming & use the floating dock that has a slide feature and lily pad/mat which is shared with guests on the lake. • The private small lake consists of only 2 other cottages, plus any guests staying at the 2 other cabins on our own property. There are 27 acres. The 2 cabins are quite secluded in the forest hundreds of feet away so you will have complete privacy at this cottage. • Guests at this brown cottage have their own exclusive use of their own dock & boats. • Each cottage/cabin on our property has it's own private lake access with their own dock & canoes (seasonal May - October, weather permitting). • There are no motorized boats on this lake, only suitable for canoes, kayaks, paddle boards etc. • Great fishing available with lots of bass, pike, perch & other big fish. • See the picture of our property map for locations. • Lakeside lawn games available such as corn hole, bocce, ladder ball, as well as sunbathing, and relaxing sunsets by the campfire (conditions permitting) Seasonal Activities at Your Doorstep ❄ Winter Activities • On site snowshoe trails through 27 acres of forest. Close to the Top Connector & Feeder trails. Please see Maple Leaf Snowskimmers Map for District 6. • Snowmobile trail system with map included for our property • Cross-country skiing nearby • Snow shoeing available on the property with 2 pairs of adult snow shoes provided • Ice fishing on the property, bring you own gear • Two toboggans available to use down our hill (guest favourite for all ages) • Covered hot tub facing the lake (year-round access) Only a 35 min drive to the east gate of Algonquin Provincial Park which has 15 trails, a museum & lookout that you can enjoy for $21 per car for the day, plus top snowmobile & hiking trails, canoe routes, and snowshoeing. Nearby town of Maynooth (7 minutes) and Bancroft (20 minutes) offer groceries, restaurants, art & antique shops, and local attractions. Lots of beaches, hiking trails and other local activities to choose from for nature lovers. Please ask the host and they will share all of the recommendations. The GuideBook you will receive a few days prior to your arrival will also list all of the recommendations. Guest access Guests have full private access to the entire cottage as well as: • Little McGarry Lake — canoe, paddleboards, paddles and life jackets included (seasonal May - October). • Floating swim dock in the center of the lake with a slide feature & lily pad/mat (shared with guests on the lake) - (seasonal May - October). • Private hot tub, accessible year round • Forested 27-acre property with trails for snowshoeing, snowmobiling and hiking trails • Thousands of acres of crown land surrounding the property to the north and east with trails & full privacy • Snowshoe gear for 2 adults • Outdoor space with a lakeside fire pit for relaxing, sunset watching, and stargazing • Covered deck with BBQ to cook meals • Covered dining area on the deck to enjoy outdoor meals Other things to note - Sleeps 4, up to 6 with a pull out bed in the living room. No more than 6 guests permitted - Dogs are welcome, but no more than 2 dogs are allowed. Please disclose any pets when booking your stay. A pet fee of $50 will be charged to the Airbnb app - Dogs should be supervised and not allowed to roam the property unattended as there is wildlife and there may be other dogs with guests at the other properties - For guests traveling with shedding dogs, we kindly ask that you use a blanket or furniture cover on sofas and upholstered furniture. This helps protect the furnishings and ensures the home remains clean and comfortable for all guests. - Strong high speed WiFi - Starlink - You are provided with a canoe, paddles and life jackets for free with every rental (seasonal May - October). - Equipped with PS3 and games - Equipped with a Roku TV to stream all your favorite shows & a large selection of DVDs - Board games, books and an acoustic guitar are available for your use - Frequent wildlife sightings including otters, deer, eagles and many species of birds - Please enjoy the art in the cottage that has been painted by the owner. All of the art is for sale. Prices can be found on the back of each art piece. - Our cottage and kitchen are fully equipped. A starter pack of supplies are provided for all guests. Depending on the length of your stay, the following items are included: * a few rolls of toilet paper * shampoo, conditioner & body wash * hand & face towels * hand & dish soap * dish sponge * 2 clear garbage bags for waste * dishwasher pods - 1 per day * 1-2 rolls of paper towels * 2-3 dish towels * a few coffee keurig pods * coffee, tea bags & sugar * olive oil * Brita container * select spices * aluminum foil, ceran wrap & small ziplock bags Replenishing additional supplies is the responsibility of each guest. - All linens, pillows and comforters are provided, as well as face & kitchen tea towels. - Guests must bring their own bath & hot tub towels. - One bundle of firewood is provided. Guests can purchase additional bundles for $10 if needed or bring their own. Please check local fire bans & fire burning times. - Hosts cannot control weather events that may cause the rare power outage where there is no electricity or water available for a time period. Please advise hosts if you experience a power outage as utilities may need to be turned back on manually. - In case of a power outage, some supplies are available such as candles, flashlights, batteries & bottled water. Guests may need to get ice from Maynooth, the local town 7 mins away, which will also have wifi, if your service has been affected. - Guests must agree to all the house rules before booking.
