The Railway Retreat - romantic hideaway for two

The Railway Retreat is a stunning oak framed barn, set in quiet Berkshire countryside. It's recently been converted to the highest standard, creating a beautiful, relaxing space. Bring your VI Pooches to stay. They can scamper around the fully enclosed garden, while you're still tucked up in bed, enjoying your morning mug of tea. (We'll leave some milk in the fridge for you.) After your lie in, enjoy breakfast on us. Fresh eggs from our hens, home baked sourdough bread, butter and jam. The space The Retreat was built around 30 years ago, from stunning oak timbers. After too many years of just being used for storage, we have converted it into a beautiful space. After five years of dreaming, planning, doing and painting, it is now ready for you to enjoy. Sleep in a super king sized bed and gaze at the stars through the skylights above you. Cook a meal if you want to, in the full kitchen that is stocked with essentials; or ask us for local pub and restaurant recommendations. Relax in the private garden, explore the local area (we're two miles from the ancient Ridgeway track) or swing in the hammock in the orchard. Underfloor heating will keep you warm in the winter. An air source heat pump will keep you cool in the summer. Whatever the weather, the temperature will be just how you like it, with nothing for you to worry about. There's a tap outside for washing muddy paws, as your dogs are very welcome to join you. There is also a washing machine inside too, just in case you get wet and muddy on your walks. There's a private parking space for you and even and EV charger, if you need it. Lots of mod-cons and lots of warm, countryside charm, for a very relaxing stay. Guest access The Railway Retreat is a detached building with its own garden and parking space. There is a shared driveway with our home, but plenty of privacy and seclusion for you. From the private garden you are welcome to wander along the old railway line - now an orchard of apples, pears, plums, quince and walnut. Swing in the hammock or take a mug of tea to the secluded bench at the far end, for a real escape.
