The old windmill and all the property around it used to be a part of the parcel including the lavender farm across the road. This entire area on top of this hill was an ancient Native American settlement. If you follow the little path directly out of the front door it will take you to a mortar rock used by the women of the Hohokam tribe to process mesquite beans into flour. Please feel free to walk the property, there are many paths all over the top of the hill and behind the Indian rock. Do keep an eye out for critters and cactus, everything out here wants to poke you!
